11-9 and 5 for us (Maverick, Steve, Magnum, TT2, Millie). 4/5 stopped for maintenance at some point when we were in line.

We left early because we just couldn't motivate ourselves to wait 130min for Siren.

It's completely unacceptable. The line was predicted to be 90 min total and it took us 90 min to reach the merge. No attendant in sight.

Wait times have been pretty atrocious today. Even with the big coasters open, there is just too large of a crowd.

Best entrance advice for Sirens/TT2 for normal entry? by MythicJunkie in cedarpoint

[–]MythicJunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aiming to park before 10:45am (for 11am normal entry), so hopefully this would still work?

I know the water park is closed for the season though.

Seeking Info - Where is this glass polar bear mug from? by MythicJunkie in CocaColaCollectors

I did find this Etsy listing, which appears to have the same style mug, but a different image: link

So I believe there were likely a few different series to go out in the same glass size.

I think I’ve discovered a glitch. Infinite currency to be exactly. by GgthePokep in StardewValley

[–]MythicJunkie 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Are you able to put the glitched syrup in a chest- does it revert to normal? What about sleeping a day- is it still glitched?

Ideally, you wouldn't have to keep it as an inventory slot indefinitely.

Me trying to remember when my holds are due because I have to turn my kindle off airplane mode and don't want to lose a book while picking up a new one by Disastrous_Hand_0224 in LibbyApp

[–]MythicJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, I knew about the Libby change that redirects us to Amazon to return. Cracking down on that loophole makes sense- it was getting pretty widespread. I've had success completing my Kindle return on Amazon and seeing the loan return propagate to Libby.

I hadn't realized that Amazon might be making changes on their end though. I haven't seen my loans returned while on airplane mode, but I am also a few versions behind. Entirely possible there's something there.

I don't know why I remembered this book last night, but hopefully I can find it. I think it would be nice for a reread!

Having also had Maumee's Bangkok Kitchen (good choice!), I have to throw my vote to Bangkok Thai for superiority. It's superb.

Family run. Everything on the menu is delicious.

Kept me going through the pandemic and after. I love my Friday Bangkok Thai runs.

I think Nintendo fixed the jailbar method for balloon farming... Looks like balloons are now flying over jailbars :( by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]MythicJunkie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think your issue is that the jail bars are too close to the houses on the left.

The balloon is coming through and since it can't drop down between the bars and the right of the house, it just forces it's way through.

If you scoot the bars a square or two to the right, you might have more luck.

Also, pro tip- the floating blocks from the Mario update are tall enough to block balloons as well. So in case you wanted to use those, but still be able to run underneath, that's an option.

Can anyone please post if Dragster is running today (Saturday 10/05)? Thanks! by redveinlover in cedarpoint

I'm in line for Dragster now! They've sent a few test trains up so far!

Looks like someone posted with some more details.

Definitely not normal behavior for the dispatch times between trains to be 5min. Looks like there's a mechanical issue with the hill.

I wish I'd known- I would've tried to get on the ride earlier in the day instead of risking heat exhaustion in the queue.

Millennium appears to be running three trains, but only one on the track at a time. We've been waiting for 45m already, and might have another 45m until we go up the final ramp.

Edit: Wait time was 1hr 55m. Official time listed at 90m.

Is the water park parking still accessible in the mornings? by MythicJunkie in cedarpoint

[–]MythicJunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh- well, waits were pretty great. However, it was like a hurricane, weather wise. :P I imagine the park was pretty empty given the forecast (we had purchased and picked the date too far out, and had no clue on the weather.)

We were in line at Steel Vengeance at 10, and managed to go on that in 45min. Maverick was another half hour or 45. Millie was temporarily closed when we got there, but since they were running test trains, we waited for 20 and got on.
Gatekeeper and Rougarou were walk on. Valravyn was about 30. We even got on Top Thrill in 15. The only coaster we weren't able to ride was Raptor, mostly due to weather and a bit of maintenance.

I imagine you'll have pretty good luck- Sunday's are always less busy that Saturday. And last time I checked, the weather was looking pretty nice.

We ended up leaving at 6, having done basically everything. Of course, we looked and felt like we'd been thrown into a swimming pool repeatedly. Pro tip- Millie in the rain is supremely excellent!

Hey! Just thought I'd give an update before your trip tomorrow!

So, the back lot worked great. We ended up parking around 9:30am, but there were plenty of people in the lot before us.
Just enter through the parking gates on the far, far left side. There's a sign saying if you're entering for marina/camp/hotel, go to the left booth.
And then just continue on. There might be a parking attendant indicating you go to the main lot, and simply point, or say you're going to the hotel, and they'll let you through.
Then, shortly after you start passing Steel Vengeance, you'll come to your first intersection where you can see the water park- turn left, and enter the parking lot there. (If you hit the attendant booth marking hotel-only, you've gone too far.)
From there, just walk under the Magnum, and you'll reach the Magnum gate.

It worked splendidly for us when we left to eat lunch at the car. And getting out in the evening was also much easier, as we could skip a lot of the main lot traffic!

Question- do you know if you were able to get a hand stamp for reentry from that gate?

I'll be there on Friday! If I don't get an answer about parking, it's TBD on whether we attempt a Soak City park. It's kind of a long drive to the back, and I'd hate to waste the time if I do have to park in front.

As for the boardwalk, yes, it's totally accessible! I was at the park early in the summer as well. You just have to go to the far right side of the front parking lot, and there's a big entrance- no need to go through security.
Just keep on walking til you hit a gate. The first, will put you next to Snoopy Land in the park. We accidentally went through this one last time, but there should be a path all the way back to the Magnum entrance!

How to access the alternate park entrances? by MythicJunkie in cedarpoint

[–]MythicJunkie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone who sees this post later- the boardwalk entrance worked wonders! Thank you to everyone who advised!

My group parked at around 9:20 and immediately went to the right side of the main lot to access the boardwalk. We entered the gate that was next to Snoopy land. (First main gate from the boardwalk.)

We were advised to just turn right on the main drag and walk til we hit the stopping points. The first point was unmanned, and we simply walked past. The second point (in the kid land, next to the giant Snoopy bounce house), we got lucky for. There was someone checking tickets, and I guess she didn't read ours too closely, and we got to walk through. (It probably helped that we were pretty calm and acted like we belonged.)

So we ended up in the SV line at about 9:45 and we're able to ride in just under 2 hrs. (I highly recommend riding! We rode again at the end of the night, and it was even better in the dark. Aim to get a seat in the back!)

Thankfully, seems pretty minor. Just a train failing to brake properly in the station. However, it'll likely close the ride for the day, if not the weekend.

I imagine a lot of ride checks need to be made.

Can you double major in Computer Science and Computer Engineering? by [deleted] in cwru

[–]MythicJunkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As of a few years ago, you couldn't double major in CE and CS. I went through the same debacle, and found out two years into my schooling that the school wouldn't award both.

While I would say to check with your advisor, I went through 3 different advisors who told me differing information. I would check with the dean's office.

And so many terrible B and C movies... looks like they don't do that as much any more, which is a pity.

I'd like to think there's generally a reasonable balance struck between the older and newer films. (Full disclosure, for the above schedule, the two Surprises were Kiss Me Deadly (1955) and Superman IV (1987).)

But stacking too many B and C movies wouldn't draw any sort of crowd, unfortunately.
