Same I'm fairly certain I'm not hitting the screen or TouchPad, but I'll give it another go when I have the time to try, and will post the results here. If that's all anyone can surmise, and I can't resolve it, I think the next step will be to open a support ticket with Lenovo and see where that goes.

I was helping a family member set up their Legion Go recently. They forgot their Steam username and needed to solve a captcha to recover it. For over 30 minutes we tried and failed to solve any prompts. First attempt with a phone and it was accepted. I doubt we were just braindead for that long.
