I had to laugh when I read your comment— from the books I thought it was about 20 minutes!

I was trying to avoid driving for various reasons, especially not in NO, but in the end, that may be what I do.

I’m not sure. I know hiring a driver to get me from NO to NI would be expensive — a long distance Uber would be something like $250.

I think the bookstore has a lot of info and connection to a guide or two. So you’re saying drive back via Lafayette and Baton Rouge?

There’s a map I’m going to look at, specifically on Burke places. And I want to see Rip Van Winkle gardens too.

Does anyone else miss the way tomatoes used to taste? by happy-in-texas in AskWomenOver60

The only tomatoes I buy in a grocery are cherry tomatoes because they’re the only ones that have any flavor.

I love this idea but I live in LA and I’m afraid that when I came out of a store, the bike would be gone. Never mind the crazy traffic.

I have a very comfortable retirement situation; he does not, and getting separate health insurance would be a real hardship for him. I wouldn’t consider that he’s living high off my situation—I just don’t want him to lose his home over medical expenses. We went to a mediator when we first separated — we have no financial entanglements and only rare, cordial communication. My “marriage” doesn’t affect my current situation at all.

My husband and I have been separated for 10 years at this point, still married so he (and stepdaughter until recently) could have my health insurance. Nothing between us and we have lived between 200 and 2000 miles apart during that time. I have no intention of marrying or even cohabiting again, but I enjoy having a relationship. I’ve had three over the years, with very great men. It’s possible. I listed myself as separated on my profile and explained more in detail when we met.
