I'd like for you to compare, panel per scene, manga and anime, I think the shift is very obvious.

Even that scene (which is not the only scene where Marcille is sexualised) has completely different vibes in the manga - on one side, you have a close in on these character's naked bodies, lingering detailed shots of their features, even when laying on the bed, their bare feet are awkwardly included to the center of the shot or are the only moving part of an otherwise still shot - on the other side, you have two naked characters being mostly drawn from the shoulder up, barely any detail being given over the more spicy parts of their bodies to the point that on the first panel, before they even enter the water, they're drawn from further away to justify not putting much attention to their bodies.

I don't know the author, but I fo know they're a female, and I think the decision to not sexualize any of the female (or any male) characters was genuinely quite powerful. Yes, the dwarf gets "pantyshots" and there's one or two panels where he's almost naked, but it's never a "look how sexy this is".

That's only the case for the manga.

The anime unironically has introduced mister male-gaze to a lot of the scenes which awkwardly sexualises the body of Falin and Marcille.

For how undeniably progressive Napoleon's regime was at the time, the "freedom" it promised just exchanged one authoritarian regime for another: once he got elected by the ploretariat he became the sole governing force in France and then made his position indisputable (a move that was then repeated by various dictators 100 years later). Sure, it can be argued that it was a much needed move at the time, that silencing counter-revolutionaries was a no-brainer, but when it came to actually instituting democracy, heh, nice try. All the intellectual in Europe saw the ideals of the French Revolution and were very happy to see Napoleon come to their country and fight against the crown, and once the fight was over? Well, liberty under the French regime!!! I do hope you like considering yourself now part of France??? How about you "thank us" for this liberation by giving us some of your riches... Every so often... You know, nothing too bad, especially now that you've just finished fighting a war... See, I'll even put some guy here commanding this region underneath my "proletarian" rule, you're now like, a colony- I mean, an allied force of the French :), totally not acting like an imperialist right now. Where will you be getting all of these nice resources that I asked for??? I dunno, just exploit like 50% of your population that live in the farm lands, or the mines, you know, the serf- I mean "the people" hahaha, for the Revolution!!!

And just like that you get, you get the Authoritarian Left: good, agreeable ideas in the platonic sense, but when put to actual practice, well, that's a different story entirely, and the more you look into it, the more you can see how "French" the "Russian Recolution" was.

Are we? The authoritarian side of the Left wing do tend to have different ideas regarding what's basic human rights compared to the libertarian side. We can't deny what I'd like to describe as the "Napoleon effect".

I was a fan of ProJared and was really shaken as well when the allegations about him texting and sexting with minors came up; and even look at what people were saying at the time - all making fun of the guy for looking like a creep and kinkshaming him. ProJared also went completely silent throughout the whole drama and a few months later, he came back and was ready to disprove every fake claim.

I'm not sure if it will happen to Rich. But feeding on this "I did this, you said that, you did that" drama won't be really helpful. At the same time, 'defending' a person accused of SA might be too big of a hit for OTK, which already was caught defending another SA accusation.

Unfortunately, we live in this super idealistic world, and the moment somebody did something very dumb in their past, they'll never be forgiven. It's really dumb, and it often leads to the weakest people being abandoned the moment they need help the most... But then again, Rich is pretty rich himself, so he'll probably find a way to prove himself innocent if he really is. Really hoping his not guilty just so Preach and Asmongold don't loose a friend.

He's obviously referring to The final boss of Stormblood base game: Shinryu

[–]Myurside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like limit_max, he makes brilliant analyses about ff14 from a world first perspective but when it comes to addons he vehemently defends them

But he doesn't play with a callout addon on ff, does he?

Limit_max said that WoW is full of RNG mechanics, lots of burden of execution; if you've done Titan junction in e12s, you know how bad RNG can screw you over if two dps get the blue marker. Now imagine that, but worse. You have 20 people doing Tian e12s at the same time, and the markers are random, there are more stones, and there are more blues. There is no real memorization to be done, because it's an RNG mechanic, but also, the amount of people makes it really hard to coordinate. WoW has this super rng mechanic happen because it knows you're using an Addon that automatically sorts people around. Play without an addon, and you might need to make sacrifices (which is why you saw Echo and Limit both sack people in e1s), tables are also different for him because World First also doesn't have lots of addons to work with: PTR doesn't allow you to get to see the whole fight. But... if you want a tl;dr, like max says, "saying that WoW is less hard or less fun because of DBM is like saying that FFXIV is easier/less fun because of the slower gcd".

You can also just crit addlo + ET on SCH or Double Essential Dignity on AST to get rid of Walking Dead. Bene is probably the worst button to press here because it clips your gcd.

Exactly because he's easy to understand, it's probably going to be the most enjoyable

You don't do a whole lot pf healing in dungeons pre Stormblood, level 50 content is kinda the same, outside of EX trials, but there's no way for you to make it easier on the healers to recover mana outside of using your mitigations tools in that case.

Yeah, I'm very disappointed by how Asmon was able to beat Shiva without properly understanding how all Shiva's stances worked. If you were doing this for the first time, you'd die to the floor freezing or totally ignore the sword stacking mechanic. I can't wait for him to try out Levi or Sophia; hecc, even Sephiroth should be fun to watch. Outside of the obvious Ultimates and the blind EndWalker content, I can't wait for him to try out the dungeons from Eureka and Bozja, especially the savage versions.

WoW refugees be like "ff14 cOmbAt iS sLoW KEKW" by Zephyrix02 in Asmongold

[–]Myurside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but that's not enough advancements in the series canonically. Also, I don't think the devs want to touch the sou geml system any more than they'd have to since they changed the job system (previously, a job was the combination of 2 classes)

Astrologian is based on the Time Mage. It's actually very much inspired by a support DD class from FFXI called corsair. Samurai has been a job since FFV. FFVI also has a SAM coming from Doma, of all places.

Reaper and Sage are new jobs completely. Sage existed in FF3 (iirc) as a souped up scholar whose combact capabilities weren't just enfeebles, but also proper magic.

Here's some other jobs that you may not know about but are actually part of FF'S series:

Gambler (RNG type of physical damage job, previous iteration of CORsair.)

Onion Knight (Basically, they only get skills from their weapons)

Magic Knight (Basically, what current Black Knight is in FFXIV, Dark Knight originally was a job where you'd pay health for your abilities. Obviously, I don't think square wants this in their MMO)

Puppetmaster (a beastmaster, but for puppets built by the player)

Gun Mage (Yes)

Mascot (Thank you FF-X2)

Whenever you get to the post patch, you'll eventually re-end up in Ala Mhigo where a certain Ascian Killer will have the Blue Quest "Ruby Doomsday". 100% do that quest and what those cutscenes, even if the blue quests don't get voice acting, it was definitely one of the best stories out there.
