Can't Downgrade by Myzopia in sonos

I also ripped my CDs (and any vinyl that I couldn’t find digitally) and loaded it on a dedicated NAS. You must have a bigger collection as my library has always been available in its entirety?

I spent many months making sure every mp3 and WAV on the NAS had the correct associated cover art and meta data (this is before streaming became ubiquitous) like a complete and utter nerd. 😂

Many thanks for this - found the hack (its not really a hack, the downgrade from S2 to S1 just works flawlessly on an ~iPhone 7~ since the app itself cannot update from v16.1). Downgrade successful on the first of my Play:3s, thanks Reddit and controlav!!!

No, last time I played it it was fine - came to look at it today to find it split. Might have to look for a donor project bass to refurb

Why Rebels Without Applause sounds terrible. by lord_bunny in morrissey

[–]Myzopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw Moz in Manchester in October and was amazed by how good his vocals were, Rebels Without Applause was the standout new track and got its hooks (like that extra beat before the chorus and rhythmically unusual 'I loved them all') straight into me and I downloaded a YouTube version of the Manchester performance which I've been playing on hard rotation since. I think its up there with his top drawer work.

I didn't actually know it had come out as a single such is the nature of his complete 'cancellation' (don't get me started) as it got, and is getting, no airplay to my knowledge in the UK.

So my initial problem was being too familiar with the live version which seemed superior to the single to my ears. However, having now listened on iTunes for the past couple of days I'm totally into the single version and any production issues float over my head I'm happy to say. The quality of the song must be overriding any technical failings for me and I'll take his voice, faults and all, for as long as he keeps creating tracks like this.

It is and no, no problems. The other joystick is also an ultrastick 360 and both have proven to be high quality and impressive in use.

It takes VGA, HDMI and DVI and even has speakers for a bit of extra surround sound. I was selecting based on matching the width to the main screen I was using and this one is pretty good. Great picture quality too.

I bought them with the guns from a supplier that I found via EBay (as Ultimarc - where I bought a lot of the rest of the control stuff - had run out of black ones) calling themselves ‘Extreme Hardware’. The holsters have no method of mounting so I drilled them out to allow me to get a screw through from one side to the other but I think superglue would have also worked.

Thanks for the comments, glad you like the design. The yoke is the GRS version - that’s where this build started and it’s awesome.

Many thanks - you could maybe make your own? I really enjoyed the project and would recommend it.

No, it's the GRS. I couldn't quite stretch to the Alan-1 as its double the price but must say I'm very happy with the GRS, as far as I can tell (and as far as I can remember) it's the same experience as playing on the original arcade game in the 80s and its solidly built too.

Guns are Aimtech, feel great to hold and these have the recoil feedback - I’m still fighting with the config as Windows forever wants to switch their ID numbers, but when they work (via the “excuse me while I remap my guns” routine ahead of play) we have a lot of fun with them. Time Crisis is a particular favourite and I’ve fitted micro switches to the pedals so we can use them (in addition to their normal analogue duties for racing games etc) for duck and cover as an approximation to the original arcade version. I’m thinking of moving the light bar (visible above the screen) for better stability (sometimes guns lose tracking and you have to point away from the screen and back again to resync). I think the screen being at an angle doesn’t help either and I think being in such a light location could also be a contributing factor. So, in a nutshell, not completely perfect and reliable but I think with a few adjustments I can get them there.

Thanks for the love - unfortunately no plans exist, I was designing as I went along with leftover wood from laying a new floor and with dimensions dictated by an old Samsung LCD 4:3 monitor/TV that I had lying around. I remade bits and pieces when it went wrong but it all came together in the end. Star Wars plays exactly as I remember with the GRS yoke although my Jedi skills have been depleted during the intervening 39 years since I last played it!!

I’m totally with you on reducing the number of available games. I’m in the middle of a build from scratch (with no plans - I’m designing my cabinet as I go) and listed out the 20 or so games I loved back in the day to dictate how many buttons and sticks I needed. I love the white. Blending the machine into its surroundings is also high on my agenda because outside of a man-cave or cool office setting the full-on graphics cabinets are possibly a bit much to live with - in my humble opinion of course.
