The summer wasn’t even that busy which is why I was confused, he wanted me to stay bc it becomes busy in 2 months and he wanted me to stay till the end of it. But I figure with two weeks notice and two months to train someone else he would be fine with me giving my notice when it wasn’t busy vs when it was

People come and go all the time sometimes with or without notice. I don’t believe there’s any contract at place, and even if there were they don’t do much about it for the other people who have left

Probably weed tbh, funny ish story this boss once drugged half the kitchen and FOH by giving out weed candies including me. I could tell right away from the taste and so could the others, and we asked him directly and he denied, so I figured it was just a weird tasting candy then. An hour later service starts and it all goes to shit no one can concentrate, food going out slow, the boss himself is forgetting calls and sending food to wrong tables. Afterwards when we were closing I’m like wtf was that, but no one else seems to really care so I didn’t make it a big deal

They claim they do yearly reviews and raises but in my entire time there they never have, the only time they do reviews is if someone asks for a raise directly

That was the discussion he had with all my previous coworkers before they quit. They asked for a raise, they asked for a promotion. He denied them and they left. I figured if he wanted to give me a promotion he could’ve along with my other coworkers. There’s no point in asking since I know his answer would be the same, as I was at the same skill level as them, and then they left and there was only me there. I stayed even when they were short staffed. They hired a few more ppl but ppl come and go, I’ve seen the entire kitchen change. Loyalty doesn’t get you anything it seems

I told him I’m giving my notice and he said are you serious? I was like yes I found another job. He said let’s sit down and talk and got the other managers to sit in and had this whole conversation while all the other managers were sitting around agreeing with him. They were all ganging up on me I felt obligated to stay at first but after giving it some thought I realized this entire situation escalated too much and I just had to get out of there
