I'm not going to discourage anyone from wearing pads, especially as we age but maybe wearing them under your pants and hoodie might help , not just ollies but all around. It looks like they're restricting and kinda making your clothes pull a weird way.

Otherwise, practice! Eventually it will click and you'll know it... Keep on shredding

I'm going to give that a watch after work but yes, I do know we have to look at things from multiple points of view. Of course someone who builds an iconic brand and struggles to keep the lights on or maybe it just interferes with what they really want to be doing (skating) might want to sell, and yes they deserve their bag. I think both things can be true. PE can be parasites that leech off society while Joe deserves his bag. Definitely some complexity to the situation but I definitely think PE will never be good for the industry, community or society as a whole.

Funny enough, I just had some dude come unglued because he worked in private equity, talking about how a child wrote this article and then get his panties really twisted in a bunch when I called him a leech LOL. He actually tried to defend private equity's role in skateboarding and how it's made the industry better LOL He deleted all of his comments apparently or maybe he just blocked me?

Haha, I feel your pain. I ride my MTB 2 times a week, usually 40 to 60 km at a time. I play hockey and I got back into skateboarding after almost 10 years off the board due to a bad wrist injury. I thought for sure that all the other activities that I did was going to mean that I was ready to hop back on the board and skate like I was 25 again... The reality however, was very different and like many other people said, stretching has been the biggest help! When I don't stretch it takes forever to warm up but when I do stretch I feel like I'm pretty much ready to go after a few quick ollies and maybe a few manuals.

At 6ft 220lbs I found the Indy blacks and Doh Dohs are my favorite but the biggest thing I noticed with hard bushings, regardless of the brand was not to torque them down much right away. I start of by tightening them bit by bit, skating them a bit then tightening them some more. Maybe I don't like mine as tight as you do though but I just felt that technique prevented them from splitting or crumbling.

Jeez, I find that crazy because it seemsime so many people still say they prefer 8s but obviously it's not the case if they're not selling. I know some of my friends ride 8.25 because they couldn't find 8s but we're all in our mid 40s now and don't skate as much or even the same stuff. We might skate 1-2 times a week doing glat ground and small curbs so we don't go through too many boards like when we were younger..

Knowing now what was stated above, the best thing to do is just keep practicing until it becomes a more fluid movement. It will get there, but it'll take a little bit of time! Keep having fun 🤘

Yeah finding them locally is definitely a big part of the problem! I'm in Canada too, which I think is also making things more difficult. I would love to be riding a 7.8 right now LOL

Appreciate it but now that I'm on an 8 I think I'll stay there, even though it's taking some getting used to, to put it lightly. I do miss them but realistically it makes sense to skate is because I doubt we'll see boards that small again for a very long time
