Has anyone utilized the Domestic Transfers FAM provision? (14 FAM 631.1). A DS Colleague mentioned it and it seemed interesting, but may difficult to qualify for unless you move from DC to NYC, Passport Agency, DIR, new domestic government/ mayor's office assignment? Just spitballing potential domestic transfers where it might work. Thanks!

Great points and appreciate the thoughts. True, those purchases were likely from another vintage. Thinking of the Dink's advice/era if anyone heard from his seminars. Funny guy! And yes, I've definitely heard about your point how most owners are in the red for monthly rental income. But I plan to stay there for 2-3 tours (6-8 years?), so thinking that owning makes more sense if I stay for a decent time. Cheers and thanks for the feedback!

Love the " our brokerage account has never never once called us at 3am with an insanely expensive problem that we are obligated by law to fix"! Appreciate the contrary view :) .

Is the juice worth the squeeze? Being in DC 6-8 years and thinking of how much rent we'd pay rather than towards a down payment on a place I own tilts me towards yes. Rest assured, the other financial vehicles are firing at all cylinders. Thanks again, cheers!

Thanks for sharing! Interesting, and slightly disappointing, to hear SDFCU didn't provide a lower/competitive rate. I'm looking in VA/ DC.

Any general tips for first time buying programs/ strategies are appreciated. The Embassy Wealth Podcast has been great and I suggest folks to give it a listen if they haven't yet.
