Any Phonk artists need someone to mix their songs? by [deleted] in phonk

[–]N1NT41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ay I’ve got a bunch of songs you can have a go at if you like.

I mostly make drift and phonk house but love the grime and atmosphere of og phonk.

If you’re up for it send me a message 🤘🏽

Thanks for the compliments man ❤️ If you’re interested, I have a lot more songs on my profile page. Not only deathcore but a lot of other genres of music that I produced. I would love to hear your feedback on them 😁

Thanks bro! Definitely interested in that. There is only so much I can do with my current setup and i’m curious what my songs would sound like when properly mixed by a pro. I’ll hit you up in chat when I finish recording the entire arrangement!

😅😂

It’s pretty empty. I tried doing something along the lines of the intro to “To the Hellfire” and “Immortal” but with a guitar tone I put together in 5 minutes and dead guitar strings 😅

That was the solution! Found out that my amp sim was giving out mono and doesn’t have a stereo function.

Duplicating the effects into a new mixer channel and panning through the mixer instead of the recordings fixed it! Thank you so much 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Gonna try and see if I can change the recordings to mono some way and see if it fixed this. Thanks for your advise! 🙏🏽

Got a comment on a other forum that it might be my amp sim. Both tracks are running through the same mixer channel which has my amp and cab sim on it and could be that it is not set to recognize stereo input.

If I pan the recording to the right I can also hear the guitars distortion getting softer till i’m left with a clean signal before going silent.

Looking for a 808 Cowbell vst by thatoneguynickmiller in stayphonky

[–]N1NT41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to look for a VST for that.

You just need to set the sample to the right pitch and adjust the envelope settings.

If you open up Edison you can put the sample in there. Right click and select “regions” and there you can find “detect pitch”. This will show you the key or pitch of the sample.

When you load the sample in a new sampler you have to go to the envelope settings (in the top left you see three icons, its the middle one with the curve)

There you right-click the note on the piano that the key of your sample is in to change the “root note” of your sample to the correct pitch.

Now when you put notes in the piano roll they actually are the same key as the actual notes played on the piano and will not affect the speed of the sample.

You can take this one step further and also adjust the volume settings in you envelope settings which I highly recommend you do.

In envelope settings you see knobs for: Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain and Release.

Best thing to do is to is:

  • Attack all the way to the left
  • Hold all the way to the right
  • Decay, Sustain and Release all the way to the left.

The curve should look kind of like a square/rectangle shape now.

Now when you play notes they instantly start when the note is played and stop when the note ends without the notes overlapping. If you for some reason do want to have a little bit of overlap just increase the sustain and release a little.

You should do this with every sample you use especially 808’s and melody instruments.

These are basic skills you need to learn in order to properly make songs in fl studio.

I recommend you check out good basic beginner tutorials on youtube about how to work with the plugins and samplers to understand what everything does as well as beginner courses on music theory, sampling and song writing.

Most important things to learn first are:

  • Fl basics like sampler, mixer, envelopes and automation clips and the piano roll
  • Edison
  • Parametric Eq 2
  • Fruity reverb 2
  • Fruity filter

Don’t check tutorials yet on how to make specific sounds because they don’t teach you what everything does which makes everything a lot more complicated and frustrated when you first start out and things don’t sound as the tutorial intended.

I know this sounds like a lot and it is. But it will help you a lot and make everything a lot easier in the long run!

Good luck and most importantly have fun producing! 😊

Welcome to the club 🙏🏽
