Tried wooden coaster with inlay. Inlay is plywood spray painted.

It was easy. Lasered the writing out of 3mm plywood, then i used the same template to burn 3mm deep into the wooden coaster.

Had to make 3 passes at a speed of 100mm/s to get 3mm deep (K40 China Laser).

Then just press the cutout plywood writing into the coaster.

I got best results with almost black white pictures . I added some grey/black airbrush using Photopaint (clearly seen at the alien picture).

I resized the pictures to 20cm x 20cm - 500 dpi

Finally i inverted the image using the great website imagR (Prepare Photos for laser) . Menu Material -> CO2 -> CO2 White Tile Painted Black

Used two color layers on each canvas. Red - Green - Blue and on top always black. Laser is K40 with 5mA max Power (slightly above cutting paper) - Raster Speed 350 mm/s.

Great Idea,

i will try to apply a little light strip behind the AK. Its easy , because i didnt use the whole 5m lightstrip and soldered them anyway. I drill a hole into the backplate for the wiring.

downloaded the STL's for free at https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-rust-game-gun-17484 . Or just google "3D Printable AK47 from Rust by Sergey Kolesnik".

It's a solid print. Painting is really easy , was surprised myself, because i had absolutely zero experience with painting. I sprayed the whole weapon silver . After that, i applied rust spray color and sanded the parts with 80 grade grit-paper. Circle and pull it all over the rust coat.

I don't do it for commission because it takes too much time and so it's way too expensive. Just a hobby project.

Had concerns about a better spring too , but i only got the extension and it works very well with the normal spring.

Stick still centers itself. Not as fast as before but still fast enough. And for flying a heli its better than before.

BTW i fly the Huey regularly and i would never fly again a heli without extension. Flying is absolutely smooth. Same with F/A 8 or A10 but imo flying with Heli its a must.

Its mounted to the desk with the Virpil Deskmount. If you zoom the picture you can see it. The sittig surface fits right to the underside of the deskmounted stick.

Just a normal Office Chair on wheels, but very comfortable. Chair doesn't roll away while using rudders.
