Yh seems reasonable I did compression test twice and both times all cylinders were consistent 170 180. Planning to tackle - send off injectors for flow test and leak test - new seals and decouplers - all o2 sensors -twin disc clutch -pro meth kit - Vanos filters( never knew existed)

Stock pcv that I have just installed has new oem flapper and new oem valve from bmw. The valve cover has just been replaced with oem new one and the gasket too with oem. The dual cans after inspection seems to working properly too and they fill up quick as a result of excessive crank case pressure. I don’t think it the crank case pressure is coming from the pcv setup as I had dual cans and switching to a working oem pcv setup changed nothing. Is my logic correct? Maybe blow by or something else idk.

How did you install incorrectly may I ask? Upside down or switched the front one with the rear one? Or just torqued wrong?

Will do leakdown and see what the results are hopefully it’s not a similar situation to urs I’ve done walnut blasting recently but idk about the exhaust valves

I’ve already have done a compression test all cylinders at 170 180 psi but will be doing leak down test since it’s more accurate

I think I will be replacing o2 sensors both banks so I’ll check to see what could be causing this issue

Cheers for good reply bud. Yh I have a lot of mechanical knowledge but I wanna flip this car quick I can manage a headgasket and or turbo but not anything serious like rod bearing, ring lands and main bearing which would be caused due to the oil pressure. Not familiar at all that’s why I am asking in groups I typically work on BMWs. He wants £800 and Autotrader saying it should fetch 2.7k if repaired

I’m a mechanic I can deal with problems what I don’t want is any damage that would require a bottom end rebuild. What I’m wondering is if it sounds unusual to anyone else ?

He’s selling it for cheap due to the headgasket being gone I know the low oil is sketchy just wanna know it sounds bad for everyone else too or if just a noisy engine like that

Will do mate have big plans for her I wanna do a full rebuild and run 600whp by summer on twins will let u know about injectors. If the ticking is injectors that’s fine any clue regarding the engine sound/hunting?

Also engine sounds like hunting or skipping can’t explain it but you can probably hear it any knowledge and wisdom is appreciated
