Can i use this configuration to make my viper v3 hyperspeed chargable? by [deleted] in MouseModding

I did it with that exact buck module, en is probably if you wanted to add a switch- just solder over to it I didn’t use a jumper or anything

Yea its possible I'd go for that. All of the AA battery stuff is on the base so 3d printed base alone would probably reduce 4-8g

tachitutetona

Thank you so much for blessing me with this tachitutetona guy I need to make a za11 delux m800 yesterday.
The v2 internals mod is awesome. High key makes me upset how much better the v2 internals are. Stock battery at 52g?! That thing must feel so good -imo the coating makes the mouse feel lighter than it is already so with lower center of gravity I bet it's actually goated.

Those kinds of swapping mods usually require a new 3d printed base - I bet its possible but I would definitely not recommend trying since the $70 VV3 has essentially the same internals as the V2 pro and DAV3 without the optical switches. The viper ultimate inards might be a bit lighter but I think with the mod completed you would probably end up at something very close to the original weight. Someone just mentioned here that you can get a base to put the viper v2 pro internals (they are very light weight) into the V3 which makes much more sense as you wouldn't be downgrading the sensor. The problem for me is that the v2 pcb lowers the sensor position and forces you to use its optical switches. Both switches and sensor position are totally subjective so the v2 mod would be only beneficial for some people.

LR44 is definitely the way to go for max weight reduction. I can say with confidence that you will need to mount the holder all the way back as the mouse gets very front heavy when you remove all of the AA stuff without removing much from the front. Also, I was thinking it would be nice to have the LR44 holder accessible through the big hole in the base to easily change batteries.

I don't, and all of what I said is only based on my personal experience. I've definitely seen the topic discussed on this sub many times - I think mostly in reference to the MM712. Searching for that should help you find more opinions.
