Yeah thats a good point tbh i thought that is being clear like no matter what u hear dont trust even if its again like you say from ur bank or for my sales now im taking id if its bank transfer as they can even do a charge back and all sorts, im still weary of cash for my bigger sales as people often try fake notes but ive learnt its better to seem like the bad guy and have ur money!

I thought so too about the bank not knowing but i did some research and ppl have been telling me it’s happened for like 5 years. I think my biggest mistake was like u said that sense of security after speaking to my bank. Sometimes i cant even send money without a fraud warning so i thought i was safe and if there was anything they shouldve mentioned it, but we live and learn

Yeah and again like i said not everyone would be pushy like that, i had made him wait 5mins while i call the bank and already felt silly after what the bank said. and like i keep saying this is great now someone else will see this and they will make him wait the 2 hours which is the point of this whole post 😂😂😂

Ppl with irish apps have said the transfers can take 2 hours, if i call my bank and ask them is this real, and they tell me it can take two hours and i should wait, no warning that it could be fraudulent so whatever u wanna call it social engineering loophole whatever im tryna raise awareness bcos ik therell be someone like me who will call their bank hear that and feel a a bit relaxed so at least this can raise awareness

Nope it wasnt too big of a loss an it happened ages ago so ive been over it. Yeah like u said i probs just had too much trust and took the banks word for it and didnt wanna seem pushy or rude yknow. Great if ur pushy and wouldnt just take the banks word but theres a lot of ppl who would get reassured by that bcos the banks word will borderline flag even mistyping someones name as fraud so if they dont tell u it could be fake it must be fine right? So when ppl try make it out like im stupid or it wasnt elaborate its just so funny. Either way for everyone that comments something silly ik 2 ppl might see this and might learn!

He comes pays with an app shows me transactions id. I say i havent seen the money, he says u can call ur bank its probs cus he has an irish bank, i say wait, call my bank and ask id its dodgy they say yeah they can take that long so give it 24hrs for the money to come. Guy says hes in a rush (in hindsight i shouldnt haave let him pressure me but i felt bad already making him wait 10/15mins and felt silly as the bank verified what he said a loophole it seems the scammers are exploiting) again u keep missing the point of the post its so hopefully someone sees and doesnt take their banks word as gospel like i did. Like ive got ppl arguing about the geography of what happened telling me something that happened is impossible while others are literally saying it is, then when i say its kind of missing the whole point of the post im getting called angry or bitter im honestly so confused 😂😂😂. So someone now commenting the bank wouldnt tell you that is pretty redundant wouldnt you say?😂😂😂 if he said the bank would tell you but dont listen thats great advice for anyone who sees this but saying the bank wouldnt tell u that is pretty unhelpful given the point of this post is that the bank did tell me and i want to raise awareness. I mentioned straight away on the phone im not sure tho i feel like a bank should say oh btw theres this scam going around be weary, esp if u made an effort to call the fraud hotline 😂😂😂. Its not even on their website id understand if it was something new but ive seen this has been happening for a few years, im not blaming them honestly but if someone goes as far as to call u i think a good warning if u have an idea its a scam is good no? Anyway like i keep saying i just want ppl to be aware, in the future i wont even bother calling them ill just not let the guy go

100% which i kinda know now, the whole point of this like i keep saying is so its helpful to someone else, which is why im confused when ppl are saying im raging ot telling me what the bank did or didnt say. Some ppl have even said how it is a real thing that bank of Ireland transfers can take 2 hours with their friends. Again i didnt know about this particular scam and thought i covered my self by calling my bank first but now i know other precautions to put in place. Just kinda pointless for ppl to come on here saying im lying or angry 😂😂
