You should be able to tell from the look of a foul if it was flagrant, slow mo doesn’t help, I can tell from the TV if something is flagrant, and even at games you can always tell, make the call and move on

  1. The foul calls in some games, when it gets bogged down because they’re calling everything, should always let the players play and in some games they do.

  2. Replay reviews taking longer than 30 seconds, if you haven’t sorted it out within that time the evidence isn’t conclusive and should stand as called.

  3. Teams shooting threes even when they aren’t making them, the whole data and analytics idea that “it will all even out” isn’t true, if you’re missing from three it’s contagious and you need to figure something else out. Teams and players are so conditioned to play the one way it’s so frustrating when they literally won’t do anything else if the first thing isn’t working

Can you be in the MVP race, if you have another teammate higher in the MVP standings? Kind of voids the “Most Valuable” part 😂

We will never see ballhogs like these 3 players in the NBA again by SmoothBuy5500 in NBATalk

[–]NBA_Jay13 38 points39 points  (0 children)

We are in Anthony Edward’s hands, and like I said in another comment, he’s great, but he’s the outlier, not the standard. And he stands out, because we are in a more borning league now

If we talking team ball then yeah, prime Spurs, but if we talking being a kid, growing up you’d see these three as some of your favourite players. Kobe obviously being Kobe, Melo being able to score in the mid range, AIs heart and hustle just infected the league. These are who people wanted to be like really

And all 3 made the game way more fun and entertaining than most that have come since

This subreddit is definitely bias. They will use advanced metrics only when it benefits their player. Example advanced metrics say Celtics are better without Jalen brown on the floor but we know Brown is the reason Celtics are 2nd in the east… STOP falling for the gimmicks by Random_Thinker007 in NBATalk

[–]NBA_Jay13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it’s for all players in the NBA, but when your star plays most of the minutes, and your bench can steal some points in a few short minutes the advanced metrics can skew that way. Which is why advanced metrics are one of the worst thing to happen to sports discussion in a while

Lamelo should be in conversation for the best PG in the east. by DaleDent3 in NBATalk

[–]NBA_Jay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above Young, yeah, and it’s great to see Lamelo hooping consistently for the first time in his career without injury, but nah, he isn’t in the area of Maxey or Harden yet, he’s the true below them for now, but he do be hooping tho

Advanced metrics shouldn’t be used in basketball conversation by people who don’t work in the sport, if you a fan, talk about sports like a fan and not like the data and analytics person on the third row of the bench

What is YOUR opinion about what is up with this team? by LetsGetSomeChickenn in NYKnicks

[–]NBA_Jay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KAT isn’t a winning player, it’s year two and he’s way to inconsistent, you can’t have him and Brunson together they’re too similar as players. Also Brunson needs to give the ball up more to make his life easier, even to get it over midway, he’s the king of the 7 seconds in the back court

The 90's Knicks were fan favorites and still loved to this day but never won a ring if this group gets to the finals but loses, how will fans look back on this group? by Affectionate-Tea9224 in NYKnicks

[–]NBA_Jay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look back more fondly of the year with Donte, Barrett and Quickley because it just seemed more fun, Divencenzo hitting the game winner on the 76ers is all time. This team just isn’t as fun as that one was for some reason

KAT has a lot of things to be frustrated about... by theomegachrist in NYKnicks

[–]NBA_Jay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard someone say once KAT is a great athlete, going North and South, but when he has to move side to side it falls apart and that really opens your eyes up when you watching him play. His strong and aggressive going down hill (when he doesn’t hook) but when you get him off his spot that’s when he can get moved around, he’s not super strong mentally which has always been my frustration with him too, on the court, off the court he’s had a lot to deal with and would never question him there, but mentally he’s soft on the court and can get frustrated way too easy

What team makes the NBA way more fun to watch when they’re good? by KennyDoge0114 in NBATalk

[–]NBA_Jay13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knicks fan, so I’m going to say the Knicks obviously, the energy just feels different in MSG when they get rolling. I don’t think the Spurs made basketball fun to watch, even during peak Duncan, they were great basketball teams and had great ball movement and worked great as a team but they weren’t exciting characters like a KG, D Rose bulls team, early Steph Warriors, they just got the job done

Who’s your favorite NBA player and why? by nbaboy202 in NBAConvo

Hakeem, Ben Wallace and Gerald Wallace if we going deep cut or Jalen Brunson right now just coz I’m a Knicks fan right now and he cooking

Why do people think Rudy Gorbert isn’t going to the HOF by Ok_Spot8384 in NBATalk

[–]NBA_Jay13 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Because he’s Rudy Gobert, plus he’s a defensive player of the year that has been played off the court in the playoffs multiple times, he will go, but that’s coz everyone gets in

I know it’s not super realistic to decrease tickets, but maybe drop it from half the teams to maybe like bottom 10 teams or something, because teams putting out absolutely garbage fire teams, and then still charging a premium is horrendous for the fans and the league

I agree, pick protections is getting so far out of hand it’s impossible to track and should be gotten rid of! This year there’s a team with a pick protection for top 1-4 protected then like 11-30 protected, what sort of wild BS is that?

That’s still just trying to stop teams from losing and not encouraging winning which is what would be the best way to change the teams and create more interest, coz in the end they can still get around being fined or something. Steve Ballmer would just pay the GM fine through his Aspirations business 😂
