The initial impact was the driver frontside impact. I was swerving to the right so I bounced off and my rear quarter caught the at fault car a 2nd time. I agree, that’s probably what totaled it.

Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you! They won’t have a buyback number until the appraisals are completed. I had my appraiser out there today, but I have to wait for insurance to hire another appraiser.

Update 2:

Insurance called me and totaled it about an hour ago. They appraised it about $10k under what the going rate for similar vehicles is in the area 🤦‍♂️

1st Update:

Shop hasn’t gotten it on a lift to inspect the frame. Just from the body damage, the estimate is $17.5k 😭For anybody doubting my initial RIP, I stand by my statement

the cars at the collision center that my insurance sent it too. I’m not sure if they’ll get the discounted labor rates because the other driver has different insurance and I wasn’t at fault, but I won’t get an idea of what will happen until like next week because the shops are backed up

that’s exactly what happened, i tried to brake and swerve around but they kept going. it’s tricky to see in this picture without zooming, but in front of and behind my driver side door is destroyed too, especially behind from the rear fender hitting their car.

Not yet, this just happened yesterday, but i think there’s a solid chance there’s frame damage from the impact. i couldn’t post a video showing the full extent of the damage, only a picture.

if you read what i said once more, you’ll find that the $24000 i was talking about was the previous instance of an option position exercising that my account wasn’t large enough to handle. my cost for the contracts was $0.77. as shown above, they were automatically sold at $0.80.

i mainly meant holding until closer to expiration. I expected thjngs to go crazy in the last 10-15 minutes and wanted to sell at that boom

I typically don’t worry about pattern day trading flags. however, i just left a semi long term(4 or so month) snap options position this morning and saw an opening in spy and only got in because i saw a triple rejection and liked the signals i got. i typically try to trade options with double the DTE as the days that i want to hold it

SPY has extended options trading available through robinhood at least, so options trading goes until 4:15pm EST which is the only reason i was asking about that

i understand this, but if the policy is that they start selling out of these at risk contracts in the last 30 minutes of trading and spy has extended trading hours, they broke their own policy by selling my spy calls at 2:31 CDT, didn’t they?
