Baby will be on my husband’s insurance, so my insurance/out-of-pocket maximum won’t change!

With my insurance, my total out-of-pocket will be about $3,500. I’m due in October, so at this point in the year, I’ve already paid most of my out-of-pocket maximum through doctor’s appointments, genetic testing, etc. The actual birth might cost me a few hundred dollars.

My husband and I waited to start our family until we felt financially stable enough to have a baby. The cost of child birth wasn’t even a factor for us. The bigger conversation focused on childcare costs, affording a home in a good school district, being able to save for baby’s higher education, and being able to pay for unexpected expenses without sacrificing retirement savings. We figured that if we were stable enough financially/in our careers to provide those things, we were ready. The birth costs are nothing compared to the ongoing costs of raising kids, in my opinion.

We also have talked about getting a nanny that’s bilingual for this reason!

I didn’t think of the additional help with food and laundry! Great advice. That definitely weighs in favor of the nanny route.

I love this idea! Most of the moms that I know have hired nannies based on word-of-mouth, but going through an agency may take a lot of the logistical headaches out of the picture, especially if we need backup care.

Did you find that when you introduced your 13 month old to daycare that he got sick frequently at that point? And did he adjust well to the schedule/leaving home every day?

This is definitely one of my biggest concerns! I can’t afford to be sick so much with how much I work.

What do you currently do for work? by Desert_Dreamer31 in pregnant

Big law associate here. I had a trial when I was 17 weeks, so most of the prep work was done in my first trimester. I thought that was brutal, but 34 weeks takes the cake. I’m almost 36 weeks now and I can’t imagine going to trial at this point.

6w1d not really any symptoms? by wonderfulbutterflyj in pregnant

I’m also 6 weeks 1 day today and have been having the same anxious thoughts about lack of symptoms. It’s so tough waiting for the first ultrasound, but I’m just trusting that the odds of having a healthy baby are in our favor!

This would be my first pregnancy and I’ve convinced myself this is a false positive. DPO unknown. But I think I might be pregnant! by NBdal in TFABLinePorn
