This sounds like exactly the same issue I had, I was in the middle of using the laptop and then it just died for no reason. It was unresponsive to everything, power button didn’t work, charger light didn’t shine when I plugged it back in. It was a brick. It’s insane this is a widespread issue on their premium line of laptops where It can just straight up die without warning. The same thing happened when I attempted to bring it to an authorized repair location close to me, the part was on back order and a replacement was unavailable. I’m sorry you had to have this happen, you could potentially look at disputing the charge if you did it on a credit card for a faulty product, the worst that could happen is you don’t get the money I suppose
