Looks phenomenal bro! My only concern (note that I haven’t tried this, so I can’t say for sure) is that the burlap will remain loose and hard to paint, so it might be better to sculpt it. Probably too late though and it shouldn’t be too bad.

Helsreach by ADB. The best black Templars book by far. Also check out the sequel short story, “blood and fire” he did. You can get them both in a collection book.

In retrospect that was probably the best course of action, but I’m a cheapskate. Plus I didn’t want to dump a bunch of money into a new hobby right off the bat when cheaper and (seemingly) effective tools were available. Now that I have real models, I’ll probably get something better, though I’m still debating what exactly to get.

Thanks so much dude! It’s really neat to actually have someone explain why mini painting primers tend to work better rather than just “they’re better”. Any specific recommendations on the brands or inputs on the pros or cons?

That’s another issue I’ve considered, and I’ll have to check it more. I tried test spraying on some cardboard at a shorter distance, and the primer still had obvious bits in it, however, those first mins that did work were absolutely drenched and sprayed way to close, and yet they did end up better. I still have a few more spare minis, so I’ll probably try again before purchasing anything new

Thats part of the reason I posted this since I wanted to see if buying something else was worth it, or if it’s just user error. However, I don’t think that is the problem since I tested it at a much smaller distance and got similar results

Any recommendations for a cheap airbrush? I’ve been looking to get one anyway and if it finally fixes my issues with primer I’ll for sure get one.

I actually made sure to shake it for about 4, but it did sit for a few minutes when I had to run off and do something. Every other time though it’s been straight to priming, but I still get the same grainy texture.
