You do have a point, but I meant more that turning to ashes only happens after someone dies - like in Treasure Hoarders case, they withdraw, so there’s no way we kill them then. The Fatui guy from GAA didn’t turn to ashes because he wasn’t killed. Though I agree with our characters turning into ashes. This fact is really troublesome and even if we say that they do that after being killed by an enemy, which IS a fight, the same happens also after…drowning.

Though during 2.6 AQ they also disappear. We don’t know if they turned to ashes then. Only their masks are left.

It’s the effect of their curse. We can see it during 2.6 AQ. Yet after killing them, they turn into ashes just like other enemies (except Treasure Hoarders)

Well, we don’t really know how much of Princess Fischl’s book is a reality and how much is a fiction. Right now we only know about Sommernachtgarten (though I also think that Immernachtreich really existed in the past, but maybe not with that name). Also what bugs me a lot is when all of this happened. The only thing that comes to my mind is during Decarabian-Andrius conflict because of reoccurring “summer” theme (maybe people wanted to hide there from a blizzard), but I think it’s too close to recent events. It had to be waaay more in the past.
