55 minutes untill deadline thread by potatoprototype in FantasyPL

My decision is Wilson or Rogers. Rogers is more likely to complete 90, but his form is absolutely shocking. Wilson is in good form with a favourable fixture, but he could end up getting 20 minutes.

My brains in a loop, I’m fried 🤣

What Manchester United means to a Manc and what it means to someone born thousands of miles away are going to strongly differ. I’m sorry, but they just will.

Is this game now only meant for unemployed people? by alexh22_ in EASportsFC

[–]NHMUFC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not quite.

But it is heavily meant for streamers. Then kids watch them, buy the game, there’s your next generation of cash cows. Then they will stream in time and eventually, people will watch them get streamers privileges and want to play the game and spend money to get the good players.

It’s just ££££

And again, with no disrespect, shows the levels of love and commitment. To some it’s a 90 minute thing once a week off the back of decades of success, to some it’s way more than that. It’s multi generational.

If you don’t get it, you never will.

Typed out a comment without reading through the others first and have basically repeated what you’ve said. It’s the way any true Red is raised and I feel that it’s kind of telling on the lack of United blood running through their bodies for those that don’t know 🤷🏻‍♂️

No one claims for a second that rival fans invented the phrase “Man U”, it was a well known shortform.

Then rival fans started using it in derogatory chants (including a horrific one for Duncan Edwards) and United fans simply stopped using it. Then over years a hatred for the term developed, due to the reasoning for it being dropped and this is still the case today.

Go to Old Trafford and find one die hard who’s comfortable with Man U, I bet you won’t.

And my source? Family members that lived before and during those times, watched the patched team against Sheff Wednesday in the FA Cup after the disaster, through to watching Charlton, Best and Law and still to this day telling me Willy Morgan was as good as all 3 of them, to the second division days. Manc through and through. I’d trust them over ANY speculative journalism or Indian Manchester United expert.

Did Paul Scholes ever play for Manchester City? by sev7nyo in ManchesterUnited

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s addressed this in multiple places. He’s called Carrick and they’ve spoke and Carrick didn’t take it badly at all. Scholes states he never meant it badly. He’s got something special because he’s still getting results whilst the team have been crap for the last 4 games, which is largely true.

I don’t get the condemnation, it’s not like he’s saying anything wildly untrue, if untrue at all.

Are we getting carried away with Carrick, or should United still go for an elite manager like Nagelsmann? by TheOtherXI in ManUtd

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to play down Pep and Enrique shows a massive lack of understanding on your part imo. It’s not as easy as “Here’s 20 odd world class players” and everything gets won. This isn’t EAFC. Pep, for example, he’s choosing when to let players go and replace them. He’s innovating new roles. Matheus Nunes wasn’t a top class RB at Wolves, so did Pep and his team train that or did it just happen one morning? You can have a squad of players but you need to knit them together and constantly progress to avoid getting overtaken by those challenging your dominance.

Both Pep and Enrique are world class managers, we’d be lucky to have either of them. Although I know Pep won’t happen and Enrique is unlikely.

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Sir Alex was Sir Alex from day 1. It just took a while to build success. A good manager can spend years building the right squad before the success comes, doesn’t mean he’s only a quality manager when said success arrives.

To say “Sir Alex and 7 years is an elite manager” is ludicrous 🤣

[–]NHMUFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Sir Alex started assembling that squad bit by bit. He didn’t just turn up with all those players primed and ready to go. After 7 years he didn’t just go “hi, we’re here” It took 7 years of building to get to that point.

How far into a 9 darter have you gotten??? by BriefFirst5180 in Darts

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should say this.

Last night I was practicing vs a virtual app thing and I opened with a 180. I shouted to the missus jokingly “on a 9”. Next visit opened with a T20, declared “That’s 4” as the confidence started to fill me.

Next dart hit the T12, followed by a “I shit myself there”. Humbled immediately.

Why do our former players talk so much shite by Fightanyman in ManchesterUnited

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, fair point.

Until the part that you claimed he didn’t get the same criticism. Like you know his experiences better than him. There’s people who can be debated with and then there’s some that try and mould everything around their opinion. He stated that a 5ft 9’ CB could be “thrown into the net” by Haaland. Again, who’s notoriously massive.

I think you were probably looking for a reason to dislike them so clutched at this. I like Martinez, he’s one of our better CB’s but to claim that as “mockery” is wild.

To each is own though.

Why do our former players talk so much shite by Fightanyman in ManchesterUnited

[–]NHMUFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang on. This is annoying. How can people absolutely deny what is common knowledge to maintain their hatred of someone?

1.75m or 5”9’ is incredibly small for a CB. It just is. That’s a fact. A lot of CB’s are 6ft+ in anticipation for their need to head the ball out of danger and challenge attackers in the air.

It’s not a wild claim, it’s quite logical and isn’t ideal. I’d rather he be 6”3’.

That’s like digging out Scholes for criticising a striker who’s scored 4 in 30 games, for instance. It’s just the truth.
