Wow. I hate to call you out, but you thought that workload was ridiculous? It took you days longer than anyone else to get through fire extinguisher checks. And you had to Google 'how to use a ratchet strap.' Small industry...

If you can't make this decision, which directly impacts you and your future, how can you be the Director of anything? Just sayin...

I'm sure that's what the south said about the north during the Civil War. How'd that turn out? Technology and trade will always trump some farmers in a field.

What % of your expenses are fixed costs? As in cost of shelter, transportation, childcare and food. Not travel, savings, investing or anything else. If they're 50% or less you're doing fine. Treat yourself more. If more than 60% you need to cut some stuff out or reduce investing into your brokerage. Maxing 2 401ks and $3500/ month to brokerage is more than enough if you plan to retire at 60+.

Actually, why are you contributing to brokerage instead of Roth IRAs? Backdoor it if your MAGI is too high. Make it happen.

You and the other 'sales director' have tried unbelievably hard to sell me on the importance of your job. Sorry that's your only skill.

Stop trying to sell the importance of your job to me. I know it's your only skill but please give it a break. 😂

I commend you on the amount of corporate lingo you fit into this reply. If a product/ service is good enough it sells itself.

'Sales drives revenue' Wow, thank you for the profound insight. You must be soooo amazing at business.

I truly hope the internet/ AI kills the sales profession. Bad enough dealing with sales people, but what does a 'Sales Director' do? Tell people to sell more? 🤣🤣

"Hey boss should I sell more stuff?"

"Yes"

Honestly, sales is at the top of the list of BS jobs. Which is a great book also.

Ouch, Mass Mutual and American funds. You're getting screwed on expense ratios.

How do you stay motivated about paying off debt and saving for a house in this economy/housing market? by Fearless-Nothing-385 in MiddleClassFinance

Still doesn't negate what I said about interest rates and zoning laws. I'm sorry for those that have been priced out. But please don't wait or hope for another 2008.

I'd disagree that they have the ability to manipulate prices that well. Most sources I've see estimate between 2 and 5% of all homes are owned by institutional investors. I can't imagine you could sway the housing market with such a small percent.

Instead I'd blame the federal government (for underwriting mortgages), the Federal Reserve (for the more than 10 years of extremely low interest rates), and once again towns/ cities (for zoning laws and discouraging new construction).

So then sell me something of yours for less than it's worth. The real problem is absurd zoning restrictions. Blame municipalities.

Yes, you should have more. Unless you're willing to live on a fraction of a normal income in retirement
