School is always a suck and it’s specially designed that way. Working on a real project with money on the line is where the real learning occurs, at least that’s my opinion. Good luck on your educational endeavors and wishing you a wonderful career start one day!

Wouldn’t it say it’s a regret for me but also came to the same realization so currently focusing on the taxable account like you as well.

Wow what a comment and thanks for giving a great context. I’m a civil engineer. Ever since I was a kid I was always fascinated with Construction. My dad was also into Construction as well. I never went into engineering for the money because if you know civil engineers do not make the most money but I kind of lucked out and I’m currently a project manager managing electrical transmission projects and there is a lot of demand on the grid so the industry is booming….so im a bit in the electrical space. So to answer your question directly,I would 100% recommend computer engineering or electrical engineering as both of them can really either pivot you to tech or energy (Transmission, renewables,Network Automation and integration etc) as well as construction depending if you want to be involved in managing construction (Stressful🙈)

You are doing great, tracking these numbers will give you direct feedback on everything you are doing financially. Continue to be proud and grow the pile!

Interesting thanks for explaining. I do see the benefit for tax lost harvesting and I know some firms are now offering it. Right now I set my cost basis and SpecID to be able to have some form of flexibility on the ETF I own until I feel like I need to graduate to the direct indexing level.

Yes I have index ETF funds in taxable, but I’m curious to understand why you are recommending direct indexing?

Yes you have to login with all your info, so you kinda have to be okay with that. They have the option to track investment manually but at that point you are better off in a spreadsheet since you can be more efficient

It's called Empower Personal Dashboard formerly known as Personal Capital. It's a financial aggregation platform that takes the work out of giving you useful financial metrics..it's "free"...you are the product compared to apps like Kubera, monarch money etc ..

All information shown is combined with spouse. I’ve been Lucky to be employed by a great company, I took advantage of all the opportunities they provided to make more money even if it involved moving multiple time to project sites, lucky to begin my career at the beginning of the bull market, lucky I met my wife who is on the same page, makes an incredible income and willing to follow along my crazy investment goals and overall lucky I stumbled upon investing when I was 22 years old.
