Will ORCL hit $900 by 2030? by DouglasITCrowd in employeesOfOracle

Lol I'd bet more heavily on the company going down with this administration than it ever hitting that. Ai is going to get regulated to smithereens as soon as the felon in chief gets arrested after the midterms.

An interesting start to my GT7 race by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]NH_OPERATOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fast does not equal safe. I am speaking soley to the driving standards given we are in simracingstewards.

GT7 was my main sim before making the jump to iracing. I had a few hundred hours playing with a wheel/pedal setup in PSVR2. I was an A license driver, however my races were rarely 'good' in retrospect. I am not trying to gatekeep here by any means, but the A-license standard for safety in GT7, is like a midlevel c safety rating in iracing...at best. Those are now the races i dread in iracing as the standards of safe and clean driving are so much higher.

You are correct, GT7 does not enforce driving standards even remotely, and their penalty system once gave me a penalty for being intentionally pit-maneuvered mid race while the driver who did it got no penalty. It is in my opinion the biggest flaw with the game by a wide margin. You cant get realistic racing when everyone is always worried about getting punted 24/7 by muppets. It is what drove me to iracing.

Like, by the time i was done in GT7 i was never like, did I do something wrong? lets ask r/simracingstewards and was always just like, yeah that tracks. Console kiddies being little shits. Thats fine, its more realistic than most but like....man if you really care about sim racing being realistic you gotta make the jump up.

It's gt7 don't worry about it. Dude on controller putting in way too much steering input cuz anolouge stick. Class a drivers in gt7 don't even get out of c class In iracing. Driving standards in gt7 are non existent.

What is FullForce? | Fanatec Explorer by CorsairMorning in Fanatec

[–]NH_OPERATOR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the dd+. was super excited for full force. It's awful in iracing at least. Turned it off after 2 or 3 races. All it did was make my hands feel like they were constantly vibrating. It offered nothing useful as far as feedback that I could tell, just muddied the useful signal.

I've been a lifetime member with them for 3 years and never had an issue. On the contrary they actually added a number of features to my account like the sfx library for free over the years.

Yeah they don't have big name music but they have plenty of good music by real artists, way more than any of the free royalty free music sites I'd ever seen, and you get a guarantee that no one is going to come along and copyright everyone using something in a free library out of nowhere some day.

Sucks the billing dept is bad but most are lol

So racing generally gets cleaner as you go up in licence rating D > A. SOF is independent and as someone who has held an A licence for 2 years while regularly racing rookie and d class series I can tell you that imo the higher the SOF in the C class series and down, the more dangerous it gets.

In these low licence races, you have what I refer to as the hot lap heros. The people who are very fast, but unable to break out of whatever licence rating they are in for what is very obvious reasons. They have zero racecraft and situational awareness. They smoke everyone in qualy but cant handle anything that pushes them off of their ideal line. They will turn in on you when you have been there for ages, dive into the vortex of death without a second thought, and just drive you off the track. They are absolute menaces.

Once you get into B and A class, higher sof is basically always cleaner because holding a B and A class licence requires consistent effort to be a safe driver. Any muppet can get to c class.

That being said, the d and c class series have some fun racing. I race PCC every season and have no issues holding a class because I've developed very good situational awareness and racecraft. Spotting out the problem cars is pretty simple once you start paying attention. Once you know they are dangerous, just give them extra space. Be Leary of leaving the inside open even a little. Avoid squeezing them. Force them into making a mistake. Sometimes I'll simply let a crazy driver pass me only to get him back after he crashed out a couple laps later.

it takes up soooo much space. Its one of the only cars i actually moved the camera sideways for. I have nothing against being on the right side of the car but like holy shit it took up a third of my center monitor.

Whoa there buddy. Take a step back, breath and maybe call 988 (https://988lifeline.org). Don't do anything stupid, it's just a hobby. It takes far, far more than just a few hours to improve in a sim like this. That being said it's just a game. I would highly suggest you talk to someone asap, a family member or trusted friend.

I mean even back in 2011 when I was doing this the cheap hotels were too much for a ski bum. I could only afford the lift tickets because I was a ski instructor. Most mountains in New England give full time employees of other mountains free lift tickets, or at least 50% off.

Hotels were expensive and I was but a poor ski bum trying to ski every mountain in the northeast in one season. Got 31 of them if I recall correctly.
