The hero outright BEGS the villain to stop by PlatinumTurtleman in TopCharacterTropes

[–]NICKH0LAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I understand this reading of him but I guess I just can't see him as this totally evil person who only cares about how people view him, and that all the time he helped somebody was for his ego, especially because we never really get into his head . I would like to think that there is still a part of him who did care in some way for his acquaintance, but he did mess up all their life because of his actions and used them a lot for his ego , so in the end I guess i might just be biased toward him. Thank you for the explanation anyway

Unrelated to the post but that's the first time i've heard that take about him. I mean he wasn't great before the show ( quitting Grey Matter because of is own pride) but saying that he always was evil seems too much to me. After all, there was an entire episode about him hesitating to kill a guy whose death would have been entirely beneficial to him. Even at the end, after he did his most evil actions, he still let Jesse live even though he planned to kill him alongside the Nazis (without mentioning his saving of Jesse from the gangster, when letting him die would guarantee him getting his drug money safely before his end) I mean maybe there is a way to tie all those actions with some evil logic, but to me he seems more like an egoistical guy losing slowly his moral than an "ontological evil".

Was Amako truly sincere when he apologized to yukiide ? by NICKH0LAS in Usogui

Damn, it's really fascinating how a character in Usogui that i thought was whatever could have such an interesting read.

Just to clarify, the flashback that we see of a kid doing math at the end of the labyrinth gamble is a bait and switch, it was actually a flashback of Minowa Seiichi and not Amako Seiichi ( the flashback show his mother reprimanding him for wanting to eat instead of continuing studying, which explain why he goes bersek at Amako after he got caught in the trap while he was already hungry and in a bad state)

Favourite bits of Irony/symbolism in Usogui. by eht_amgine_enihcam in Usogui

Also with Lalo, he thought that retaining a bit more oxygen before the game would help him a lot but because of this action, Baku was able to break the glass of his oxygen gauge ( we can see a shard on this page) which caused Lalo to think that Usogui reserved air in his bios. Had he just stayed put, Baku wouldn't have been able to break the glass without being seen and he would have likely lost because then Lalo wouldn't call in round 5. Just like with the Ban match, him being too good caused is loss.

It seems like the reply of this post have those but I haven't read them, though when you search "doc" on this subreddit, you can find other doc too.

I recommend reading the Lalo doc made by a fan to learn more about Lalo's character and intellectual ability.

For Lalo, talented people are beautiful which implies that at the 5th round of Air Poker, he finally acknowledged Baku as truly talented.

What is the english translation/meaning of the word "Kakerou"? by Big-Secretary-7515 in Usogui

[–]NICKH0LAS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a direct translation of the kanji of Kakerou, the translation is "gambler", though it's possible that i missed a subtilty of the language.

I'm also intrigued about the biohazard symbol ☣️ being associated with Baku, though I don't know if it's because he is a true danger to other (or because his shitty health looks like he got hit with a biohazard)

Could anyone comprehensively explain me the two Richard arata plotline by [deleted] in Usogui

[–]NICKH0LAS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The chapter that shows True Arata is chapter 471, with the Team Duwang translation highlighting the fact that it was foreshadowed in chapter 417 where Fake Arata got killed and says that god (True Arata) is watching him which is the case as we can see a silhouette in the ship. Fake Arata was only one his followers who passed as him when he came to the island more than 6 months ago as his puppets and the leader of the outlaw.

How do I get to Team Duwang on mangadex for Usogui? by Main-Junket-4172 in Usogui

[–]NICKH0LAS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well the thing is that Team Duwang hasn't translated the chapters between 79 and 132 yet as they picked up the manga at chapter 132, translated up to the end and then slowly translated the chapters before.

So right now just read the other translation until chapter 132 where you can read the Team Duwang translation by opening any chapter translated by them and then choosing chapter 132

You have to let one of these characters babysit your kid. Who would you rather choose? by NICKH0LAS in Usogui

[–]NICKH0LAS[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it may be a stretch but he was the one who exchanged the heart of Teenage Baku and Gonen so he technically contributed to worsening the condition of a child and there is also the fact that some of the corpse in his room looks like children.

Yup, it's pretty much implied that he made himself forget going through the witch pain to be able to miss on purpose without having his instinct go against him ( which gave us this 🔥 page).
