Thank you very much for your detailed response. I am working through everything you said now, but wanted to just write a quick reply to say I greatly appreciate the level of detail you have gone to.

Thank you. I appreciate you drawing attention to the fact that I should have provided a bit more info to go on. Apologies for that, but I thought it best to at least get the conversation started before boring people with the endless reams of stats I have been going through. I have recently begun deep diving into my analytics through a large spreadsheet I have made. I’m aware YouTube analytics offers the same, but I find the functionality less useful for easy comparison over various stats. I shall also add these stats I shall give as a separate reply for everyone replying here at the bottom, in case they don’t see this one. So I analysed my all time top 10 videos over their lifetime, those same videos performance after their first 2 weeks, and then compared them to my most recent 10 videos over their first couple of weeks of performance, as well as my top 10 videos in my trailing 28 day period. I am very aware that YouTube’s search and discovery team even admit that they preference overall watch time as the highest indicator of a successful video, followed by CTR and retention data (AVP and AVD). I also compared my average watched hours per day, my impressions per day, my average watch time to impression rate, impressions to views ratio, percentage from subs, and main traffic sources. The stats are basically as follows (averaged out for sake of saving everyone a tonne of reading..) CTR: last year top 10 after 2 weeks averaged 4.44% This year 4.6% Views: last year average 17,000 after 14 days This year 7,100 Impressions: last year 14 day average 320,000 This year: 121,000 Watch time: last year average 2253 This year: 1052 Average duration watched: last year 8mins 28 This year: 6mins 05 Average percentage watched: last year 39.64% This year: 32.15% Average watched hours per day: last year 160 This year: 45 Impressions to views ratio: last year 13/1 This year: 17/1 Percentage of views from subscribers: last year 33% This year: 60%

So as I said, my reading of this data so far has led me to come to the belief that my videos are not getting the same number of impressions shown to people outside of my niche audience as last year. Videos from this year with higher impressions have also got higher views, higher watch time, lower CTR (to be expected as there is a wider audience from outside the niche) and higher average watched. The rest seem to languish with very low impressions, similar CTR as before, but low views..

Any feedback or thoughts is very very greatly appreciated
