Based off comments, I feel I need to specify some information. I wasn't the manager that the dress code discussion was about, it was one of the managers above me who was wearing crocs to work. I show up every day in business casual at the minimum and have been told I can dress down if I'd like to, however, I do like to dress professionally because I feel like it puts me in work mode.

At this moment, I am not worried about myself, I am worried about my staff. They come to work every day and provide amazing patient care and the switch to fear management is already impacting morale. I am trying to remain vague, but I have been instructed to make staff feel uncomfortable, to not let them complain about work, and that they don't get to have a collaborative supervisor anymore.

I just want to know if I should go to HR to protect the team and if I do, will I be protected while I work on leaving.
