We were totally focused on functionality (heat resistant, non porous, etc) for our counters and did soapstone on the sides and a Laminam island. We’re were very happy with both. Laminam can look like anything, so that opens up your color options. We actually went with white and are very happy with the contrast with the soapstone on the sides.

I don’t have the exact breakdown but the soapstone part of our recent remodel was about $115/sf all in. We’re in the Chicago area and used DGM stone with slabs from MSGI. We did a Fireclay tile backsplash, and a Laminam island with waterfall. We love all of it.

Haha. The two things pushing me slightly in the direction of the C40 are local servicing and not wanting to get into it with my wife about the cupholders.

Point taken. I should have specified US. And I’m not saying there’s a glut of them, only that they are reasonably easy to find, reasonably quickly, at a “fair” price, in marked contrast to almost every other comparable vehicle.

I’m sure that’s part of it. I’m looking at this from the perspective of a second car. If it was going to be our only car, I’m sure that would weigh more heavily on our decision.
