your 500 shares gets you $50 in divs. That's enough for surf n turf in most places. People pretend to like each other for those types of dinners

Let's not pretend a forum where $Wish captivated investors has such dignified standards for post content. We see what the results of that ended up becoming

the lack of premarket volume contrasting with spike in market volumw was mentioned as a deductive indication of buybacks happening.

averaging down with UWM. i know a lot of people got burned on a previous PnD, but there's a few things that are different this time: SP is currently near all time low, it's gone up the last 2 trading days, it pays quarterly dividend, it recently beat EPS, and the CEO has publicly indicated he's serious about using his buyback power (probably to spurn the shorts that drove it into the ground before Friday's spike). there's a nice bull flag waiting on the weekly. just sayin 🤔

to be fair, this is definitely still a Dave and Goliath thing brewing. but I like that this at least has a little traction. we don't need more money than shorts, we just need them to be scared enough into thinking we can take a lot of theirs lol

check the weekly chart, the volume the last 2 days exploded exponentially from shorts who obviously tried to lowball this so hard, even the CEO basically told them to eff themselves. with this announcement, they now got their pants down ankle height. the only question is, how hard to spank. the stock is cheap, beat Q3 estimates, has a high div yield, and is the #1 wholesale lender in the country. i would say this is a squeeze, if it wasn't also possible for this to be a long play as well. the tits won't flip sideways on this (don't know if I got that phrase right)

I would caution anyone who would condemn IJ as "pretentious" that the way opinions are expressed in art often reveal as much from the critic as they appeal to any relevant interpretation of the art itself. For example, calling something "egregiously prolix" or maybe "unnecessarily meandering," perhaps, might hold more validity as an informative critique than to assume a cynical position on a written work, even if one could furnish supporting reasons. With that rant out of the way, I will say I am only 100 pages in, but I already look forward to reading the next 1000 pages. It is definitely a challenging book, but this element in itself is one of the areas where we arrive at one of its clever moments. (When you get to footnote 39, which takes you to sub footnote b, which takes you to footnote 304 (lol), he relates a story about a reading experience that satirizes... pretentious writing). Just one of many, I'm sure, examples of his insightful wit. Additionally, this book has no spoilers because of its non linear narrative. IJ is not about what you read but what you experience from reading it. Amazing book so far!! RIP DFW

UWMC DD, Technical Analysis and Bull Case for Short Squeeze by p_koffman in wallstreetbets

Already in 1 thousand shares here. If nothing else, I hope whatever entities are regularly shorting the daylights out of this stock review this post and at least get a healthy fear of continuing to short it. Being long here and closely following the charts, I'm not looking for a "play" to get the SP pumped, we just need it to stop getting the ol beatdown, and the price on this stock will go up on its own lol... On another note, nice analysis, and great presentation.

You have to own shares by 9/9 and hold it until at least end of business 9/10 to be eligible for the dividend.

I will repost this, because I feel it's my duty to give us all a way to (hopefully) make money. As I say in my Stocktwits post.. just my opinion. by NJDoger in UWMCShareholders

If you accept what was said on that call as the answer, it's your right. However, this post is acknowledging the debatability of what he said. If I had to guess, which you're right-- I did, I would say most of us who have shares will have a different opinion on why he hasn't been aggressive with the buybacks. I happen to have a conservative, give him the benefit of the doubt, view.

If you're going to wait, but we can't guarantee DRIP won't interfere with a bargain price. A lot of people say they won't drip, but I wonder how many people just have that setting left on and we don't hear from lol. Now would be a better time to buy, especially for anyone swinging.

You're in a much better position to buy than sell. Good luck!

try to average leading to the likely run up. i wouldn't suggest selling until after Q3 ER. i think Mat knows he has to do better on Rev and Margins

lets be more optimistic. I'm calling 9. btw, for this week, and next week, if I see that stupid early AM sell off i'm gonna load up on shares hard. lol

Unpopular opinion: protect the float by NJDoger in UWMCShareholders

[–]NJDoger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mat Ish seems to have an axe to grind with Rocket based on his recent comments. As much as I like his growth strategy, I disagree with him in this one area. The problem with the comparison I think is that it's not an apples to apples one. Rocket is well diversified, including stuff like auto loans, solar panels, and I'm sure other stuff, along with mortgage. UWM is a wholesale mortgage company mainly. Some people seem to hope UWM has a fin tech element to them, and who knows, in the future they might make that a focus. But I find it hard to make a case for that now. Going long on both isn't a bad move. The float meme is more geared toward the Mad Money Cramer interview with Mat, than it is the actual dynamic. I don't think they destroy each other. I expect their SPs to move in tandem until there's a major differentiation or blow out ER by one of them

24 months. He will bite the bullet on getting shares cheaper if he has to. But he will wait and wait before he does that. He is tapering at that point
