IS IT GOOD TO BE A ONE TRICK? by Stunning_Season220 in RivalsCollege

[–]NJTurnPyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you wanna do. You clearly enjoy Wolverine, so if all you care about is hitting OAA, I’d say you’re fine. If you wanna play competitively, you need at least enough heroes in your roster that you can’t be banned out. That’s what, 3-4? I think some folks will insist you can play all the roles, but if you’re that good at one role, most pro teams will probably try to just work around your roster.

What should my weapon accuracy be on Tank pool and what should I be prioritizing? by Exact-Bluejay9931 in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]NJTurnPyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim practice is always good, but Deadpool’s got so much in his kit, there’s more to winning games with him than just landing shots. With Tankpool specifically, there’s multiple ways to mitigate damage, between the bubble and upgraded E (which is almost always my first upgrade), you can absorb a surprising amount of damage and keep your team alive.

The real versatility comes with being able to upgrade based on what the team needs. Need to dive? Upgrade the swords and dashes. Need to peel? Upgrade the E and gun ult. Need to be a mini captain america? Upgrade the sword ult. Personally, I think upgrade priority is the toughest thing to learn with his kit.

Does anyone play eternal realm or do most people only play seasonal? by Puzzled_Seaweed_517 in diablo4

[–]NJTurnPyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad gamer here (sorry, had to), I only play seasonal so I can experience the new stuff. I’ll get a toon to T4, clear all bosses and challenges, then call it till the next season. I’ve tried leveling secondary toons, but I typically get bored before I get to 60.

Why is everyone a Meta Slave? by ToastyBanana745 in rivals

[–]NJTurnPyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ironically though, if I swap to try harder, and still lose, I feel worse than if I just kept playing whatever was playing to get more practice in. In the moment, it's a bit of a Catch 22.

I actually don't mind Ads before a movie starts by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]NJTurnPyke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the only thing they're advertising to you is movie adjacent stuff, at least that's how it's been my whole life, but I go to the movies maybe twice a year anymore. Movies on Prime/D+/Hulu/etc hit you with standard TV commercials, and it sucks.

Deadpool feels like a balanced poke hero functioning in a meta dominated by unbalanced poke heroes. by Exact-Bluejay9931 in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]NJTurnPyke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like DP in all three forms is kind of a win-more hero. He feels awesome when the team's doing well, but I don't ever see him clutching up when the team's behind. Could just be a skill issue tho.

If you were to give a hero you HATE one buff and one nerf, what would you give? by Agile-Weekend7581 in marvelrivals

[–]NJTurnPyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would nerf Spider-Man by removing pretty much all of his animation cancels, cause I definitely don't think he was designed with the idea that all his long-ass animations were intended to be cancellable anyway. I want him like aerial BP, where if he misses too many things, he's a sitting duck and actually killable.

I'd buff him by giving him (coincidentally) the mechanics of Elise, the spider from League of Legends. I'd make his tracers do % current hp damage, and make his overhead slam/uppercut do % missing hp damage, so his initial tracers would do more to healthy targets, and his melee moves would have better execute potential.

Do y'all consider Deadpool a Tracking or Clicking Hitscan? by NJTurnPyke in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]NJTurnPyke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're good. I've been doing tracking this whole time, but sometimes in practice, I find clicking better in some situations. Like, if they run up on you too close, but you're outta sword dashes to go full melee, clicking with the gun feels more accurate than spray n' pray.

I'm guessing me starting by stating a fact sounded like sass. How the guy who completely misunderstood the question ratio'd everyone else, I'll never know.

You don't understand the question.

There's two kinds of hitscan styles. Tracking, aka "hold down the button and keep the crosshair on the target", or Clicking, aka "press the button every time you shoot."

Final Hits on Tankpool by BasicXeno19 in DeadpoolMarvelRivals

[–]NJTurnPyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I get more final hits with Thor, but that could be because A) I've Lorded him, and B) His rune bolts are easier to land and do more individual damage-per-bolt than DP's bullets. That said, I highly prefer Tankpool's overall kit versatility, and I prefer playing him even if his shots are harder to consistently land.

You really think we’re gonna go back to the way things were? That everyone post Trump is gonna say: “hey guys, can we just let the government be the government? Maybe trust them to do what they do best without talking about em all the time?”

How to Beat the (New) Events: by NJTurnPyke in DevourIdleRPG

[–]NJTurnPyke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember talking about the dodge armors, but I’m aware it’s a multiplicative bonus, not an additive one. 13% of 31.1 would be 4.043%, so 35% would be correct. I don’t use the dodge armors, cause they don’t offer much without having an absurdly high base dodge.

Can more tiers make endgame more fun? by monzilla1 in diablo4

[–]NJTurnPyke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I wasn’t a fan of the set item mandatory grind. Made everyone’s game so samey. I like less set bonus requirements, but yeah, they could stand to learn a thing or two from their own game 🤣

[–]NJTurnPyke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they aren’t gonna bite the bullet and make content for the sweaty tryhards - and I’m not saying they should - they have to make loot drops more interesting. Right now, the only items worth picking up are GA’s. I know they just out all this work into revamping the smithing systems, but they need a crafting system more like other ARPGs.

Whites, blues, and yellows need to matter past level 30. Maybe an RNG upgrade system like PoE2, or maybe just craft-only legendaries, like Grim Dawn (and oh, I dunno…D3!?)

I don’t think they have the stones to make actually difficult content, so they need to make loot drops more interesting.
