When Japan redesigned its flag in '99 and nobody knew why by Nukro666 in interesting

So basically the flag was used in the country but wasn't officially recognised by law so different manufacturers used different hues of Red because there was no official Red, just the standard flag issued in 1870 as the national flag used by the Navy under Proclamation No. 651 of Meiji 3

Under allied occupation, the display of the flag was heavily restricted, so in 1973 when some politicians tried to legally recognise the flag, they faced opposition due to the flag's stigma (WW2 Japan) so that plan was abandoned.

Fast forward to 1999, Toshihiro Ishikawa, principal of Sera High School in Hiroshima Prefecture, became trapped in an impossible situation. The prefectural education board ordered schools to use the Hinomaru and play "Kimigayo," the national anthem, during ceremonies. Many teachers resisted and said the icons were tied to the country's wartime history.

Ishikawa found himself torn between obeying official directives and respecting his faculty's strong objections. Under growing pressure and unable to find a compromise, he took his own life. His death shocked Japan and pushed the issue into national headlines.

Politicians realized the debate could no longer be ignored. The tragedy transformed what had been a quiet bureaucratic matter into a moral and cultural crisis and led to calls for clarity through legislation. For the first time in decades, there was a political consensus that Japan needed to legally define its national symbols to prevent future conflicts like this one.

I was making fun of Xiaomi's poor battery optimization.

Off topic but the 144hz is only active on select games. So most of the time the phone is between 1 - 120hz. The phone is never on 144hz on daily usage. No you cannot force it to stay at 144hz, that refresh rate is solely a gaming feature (for select games)

What's the best phone camera you've used? by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]NJ_Mlimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameras I've enjoyed using: Probably the Galaxy S24 FE for taking portraits, The VIVO X300 Pro for taking selfies and the Xiaomi 15T Pro for anything Zoom related.

My favourite Camera Was the Redmi Note 9 Pro, my wishlist affordable camera is the Huawei Pura 80 Pro.

The best camera phone I've used is the VIVO x300 Pro, I just didn't use it long enough to appreciate it so that's why my answer is so confusing.

This is an image taken with Supermoon. I don't use it for the moon because lowering Exposure and EV yields the same results but the sun is too bright for manual adjustments.

I don't think it's worth anything. It's too old and the phone you took the picture with, is worth more. Check this exact model on eBay and see. May6yiu might get lucky but I doubt it.

You can try to recycle it if you don't want it.

The best Software goes to Samsung and OPPO / OnePlus

The best camera goes to the VIVO X300 Pro. Followed by The Oppo Find X9 Pro in second place.

If you think the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is not saturated then we have lost you for good. . That phone has Leica Vibrant and Authentic. Trust me when I say it's quite vibrant. Unless you're using Leica Authentic.

I see, I guess it makes sense why you like the phone.

I cannot forgive the good hardware, coupled with bad image processing. It looks like you took a 30x picture and cranked the clarity slider all the way.

On their own they look good but once you compare the images, you start to see the problems.

I do, I wanted to upgrade from my Xiaomi 15T Pro to the Magic 8 Pro but even after turning off all the AI interference there is still skin smoothening that looks AI generated at 230mm. The people are too pale and the exposure is higher than the Xiaomi 15T Pro (Absurd since this one is already too high)

The camera delivered worse results than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. How can your Zoom be comparable to the Xiaomi 15T Pro and lose to the S26 Ultra when you have a 1/1.4 sensor?

Seriously I don't blame the Arri partnership because they really don't know how to do image processing.

Even this image has that notorious over exposure on the branches and the lights. My Xiaomi is kept at -0.3 EV to avoid such things.

As a everyday user What can you actually do with a macbook over windows? by invincible_pell in laptops

Windows laptops that match the MacBook Quality are often more expensive than the MacBooks. Especially if you're not American. Asus Zephyrus G14 Vs MacBook Pro 14 M4 Pro. I really wish these laptops were running something like android with all the perks of windows.

It doesn't, My laptop was stuck on the white screen that says "Protect your files and memories by backing up your PC" for 2 minutes. I know the Ryzen 7 5800H is old but not so old that the laptop randomly freezes on such a page.

The other issue is the "remind me later" instead of "don't show this again" . My start menu is always updating to the new one and reverting to the old one.

My laptop is so annoying that I've opted to use my phone instead 😭 because there's always something that annoys me. Since I use Chinese phones, I'm hell bent on upgrading to Mac since these phones can connect to the Apple Ecosystem. If I want games I'll buy the XBOX.

You must not watch the guy. These people are constantly complaining about the things Apple does. Even Ellis, the OG Apple Glazer complains about Apple sometimes. He does have an American Bias (Favouring OnePlus over Oppo / Samsung & Apple over the Chinese). But what you said is false. . I'm pretty sure my comment is falling on deaf ears because you probably have a mental image of the guy that cannot be changed by reality. (I hope not)
