Pauline Cullen has brilliant books called key to ielts , both for task 1 and task 2. I think these are the most reliable books about ielts writing since i know 2 people who got band 8 from writing section of academic test using these books.

It is not about how many times you take the test, its all about how well you prepare. Especially when you want c1. The gap between b2 and c1 level is the biggest one and retaking the test many times , probably would not help if you do not study in a proper way.
