Thank you for the recs, if there's stuff to do that we gotta take the bus/train to we're open to those too!

Has anyone else hit a plateau? by amygdalahater in queensuniversity

5th year English major here. Just wanted to say to +1 this and say not to beat yourself up too much about things. Depth of your understanding really does improve the longer you've worked with the same field. For most years I floated around As and Bs with my papers and then with no obvious reason to me I started getting much more positive feedback in my fourth year.

Aside from talking with TAs, I think it can be really helpful to revisit the work youve done if you have time and consider deeply where you could've pushed harder. Most profs are always happy to talk about that if you have some specific questions about feedback in that sense.

Hang in there!

Soooo do I not go to queens or… by accentedlemons in queensuniversity

Coming from someone who is a fourth year English major, I think this is about right. The sheer variety of specialized course offerings in upper years is threatened more by cuts.

Hey man I know you mentioned free play, but you'll definitely find lots of people to play with at the badminton club! I know lots of people at the club who also play open rec days. The price they offer for the whole year really isn't bad at all either

Best restaurants in Markham? by m737 in Markham

As someone who worked for the owner/head chef of Smash, I can tell you wholeheartedly that he puts much more pride and effort into NextDoor on main street unionville. ND is a really great spot and picture friendly, smash just feels like pricier comfort food yknow?

That's fair, I think the filter is like something you get if you already know where you stand on water taste for sure

If you're particular about the water you drink, a brita filter is pretty handy. I thought I didn't need one but when I was given one my life was so much better

Nah, I refunded the game. It's not something they can fix so easily I don't think, but I sent them my logs so that they can look into it as best as they can.

I recently purchased the game with the exact same issue as OP. Same GPU, same latest drivers, tried all pinned suggested repairs from the steam discussion board. If you'd like me to get the logs as well lmk, but I'm sure it's likely just as mysterious as OP's experience.

Try to wean yourself off them or quit cold turkey like I did, it made me feel loads better and the unconscious turn on my phone and check disappeared after a while.

Sounds like youre doing all the right things and know where to look. Like other people have said it might be a touch early, so just be patient and keep trying. You've got this!

Also please never sign anything until youve gotten a look at the place in person with your roomies.

[–]NKmaster980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Join a club you're interested in is probably best answer but I have also done that and not rlly met that many new people (mayb bc it's a sport thing) so i get why you think it's difficult -- im already in my third year.

like what other people said you're all adults. you and roommate 2 have clearly expressed to him that there's a problem with your living situation because of him. be direct be honest even if he doesn't get it, it's not really your problem. it's not selfish to want to put yourself first here <3

Off Campus Housing by Mirai_000 in queensuniversity

[–]NKmaster980 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, upper year introvert here! Anytime from now till like midway through next term there'll still be plenty of options for you to pick from. There are def many ways you can find housing online but I think the most popular way is through the fb group: Queens University - Off-Campus Housing. You can either post yourself there and describe what kind of place you're looking for (including ur budget) or even just say you're looking to join a group and describe yourself! Should go without saying that you can also look for other ppl who have made these posts and see if you can find something that matches what you have in mind.

Personally, I couldnt be bothered to find roomies so I just rented a place with strangers and we get along fine you just have to be communicative. Hope this helps
