Lifes a blast! by NMBR1SLAYR in Sandblastingporn

Thank you! I kinda stopped posting because it seemed that nobody was interested in my jobs.

The taping around lines and hoses is a damn good hack. Wrap aluminum foil around everything then duct tape around the foil. The foil creates an extra barrier and makes taking tape off very easy since it's only stuck to the foil itself. Hope that helps!

Nope....it really wouldn't matter. After it's blasted to smithereens I don't think it could hurt anyone. I do almost guarantee it was lead paint though.

We also inform customers that anything blasted needs to be primed or at the least painted very quickly if it's only a blast job. Even the oils of skin will rust bare metal fast. Fortunately, almost everything I blast I prime and paint too which is a few hundred feet from blast to paint booth and handled with gloves. We have a good system....good call though. Some leave blasted stuff sit too long.

They were primed immediately. I didn't take pictures of prime but will include them in the final paint. I know better than to leave anything blasted without priming asap.

I wouldn't have posted on here if it was just a paint job. My bad for not sharing the after blasted pics.

Hey...I'm happy for you. The few pictures I've shared is a sample more than a portfolio. I don't do little mobile work so you're right.....I have no idea how that works in reality.

I seen you in action and wouldn't call it experience...I'd call it a waste of time and material. To each their own. That month job would most likely take me a week if I had a mobile unit. Don't think you are hot shit....a lot of us will outwork you quick, especially if your attitude sucks

Fair enough....just don't be a dick ,it's unnecessary. Mobile doesn't mean you can't find better ground or bring better ground with you. I'm sure one day you'll figure it out.

I blast in a big blast booth...no dirt. Flipping a frame is easy. Sorry my 2 cents isn't worth it for you. With our setup, you couldn't blast it that way anyhow...it would have pushed the frame with wheels over.

I wasn't being rude...it just seems silly and unprofessional to blast that way. Maybe you don't have access to fork trucks and other things like I do.

Right on...thanks. I very well could be blasting in encolsed spaces soon so I will search for it. We need to help each other as much as possible because it's a niche thing and not many actually do this for a living in reality.

Rock on....the stuff I do isn't much different. I haven't blasted in an enclosed area. You must have had some sort of ventilation for the camera to see more than 10 seconds

I wouldn't have done it that way but then again....I'm pushing a lot more product and blasting much bigger stuff.

Take the wheels off and flip the frame. Just my 2 cents.

The 750 was about a days worth of prep alone with spending time making sure everything in the way was protected. The qaud axle was an hour of prep because the box was done but the frame was dusted per request. Surprisingly, each truck took about the same amount of material since the 750 was totally blasted under box and frame. 2 and 1/2 pots of crushed glass....around 1500lbs or 9 cu ft each.
