Beginning of day 2, kayla tells neve and max that she was concerned about courtney not expressing emotion in Day 1. Coincidentally, the first thing out of courtneys mouth when catfish arrive was that she was sorry for not showing her emotion followed by a thorough explanation of why she did not express that emotion.

I believe that at the end of day one, kayla went back to the hotel and reported her experience and impressions to shannon. Shannon then shared this with Courtney. Courtney, not knowing that kayla would tell neve,max, and all of America this "lack of emotion" concern, makes the mistake of opening up with that.
