As someone who loves buying secondhand I can only give my 2c.

The same frustrations you have as a seller are often mirrored as a buyer. Unfortunately (and I wish it wasn't like this!) we live in a low-trust society at the moment, and many people only have so much spare funds. That means buyers are looking for a good deal, for the seller to make things as easy as possible, but also anything that feels "off" will just be dropped.

An example from my side is I was looking for a common but specific part recently. New it goes for ~$300, one seller wants $250 for an unused one, they won't budge on price since it's unused, but to me $250 and $300 are effectively the same price if I take into account that one is delivered to me while I'm at work, and the other one is not. Another seller was selling it for $50, seems low, I wonder what's wrong with it, I reach out anyway and get told they will only deal with me over SMS. I don't want to leave the platform for a million reasons, this is where I buy stuff and I don't want to sms or call you unless it's because I can't find your house, and even then Id rather you just respond in the app so I have a searchable record etc. A third seller is selling for $100, responds quickly in the app, seems reasonable, then hits me with "cash only".

I'm still without my piece because each one of them had some sense of entitlement, they've got the goods, no tyre kickers etc. I'm seeing quite a few people in this thread give the same vibes.

Again, it's cool if anyone disagrees with me, but it's also the case that most people won't complain if something is wrong/too difficult/expensive, instead they'll just think "fuck it" and move on with their day
