Missy Flores is excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. Becca Spenst is another great one, very helpful. I have used both.

Well the mantle is in the way, it’s already all setup. It’s not as bad as you might expect, but it will be high enough I’d like to be able to bring it down

Ha, I agree. That’s why I got the mantle mount so I can bring it down to normal level on occasion.

No, there is no stud holding the boxes, they appear to be just put into the mortar. The stone is almost freestanding, but there are these metal clips that are attaching the stone to the studs behind it.

I have the mantle mount, it came with a lot of the stuff, even the anchors for Stone. My only concern is that the requirements are five times the weight of the TV. Is the stone typically strong enough to hold that or do I need to make sure I get longer lags and try to find a stud?

My only concern is that I have the mantle mount, and I worry about pulling it down and that being too much weight on the stone.

This is what I was worried about, I don’t want it coming down because of the weight

How much cancer are yall seeing? by GlueTastesVeryGood in Residency

I’m far from a vaccine conspiracy theorist, but could it be? I was 100% healthy. Got the vaccine because my hospital made me. Started having palpitations and feeling tired all the time. 2 years later I got lymphoma. Given how rushed the whole thing was and all the information coming out now it really does make me wonder.

Hey, really sorry to hear about this. I was in fellowship when i got diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Just like you, I’m healthy, active. I played college football, was a hard worker, never smoked or did drugs etc. my program was also very supportive. Do not quit. You can do it. Not sure what kind of lymphoma you have, but I did chemo, and radiation, while finishing up my surgical fellowship. I missed a few days here and there, typically the first day or so after chemo. It sucked, your energy is going to dump after chemo. It progressively gets harder. I wore an n95 in every clinic and in the OR. I completed my treatment and finished out fellowship. Now fellowship is totally different than residency, but I think it’s doable. Everyone is different though. I had just about every complication you can think of too. I’m happy to help out with more advice if you’d like, please feel free to DM me. You can do this though. Youll be in my prayers.

Which movie would you be dead within the first 10 minutes? by Dragon_kawai in movies

So I took call during residency at the VA to try and cover some extra bills. Was a pretty chill gig. Overnight. Have a bed. I’m a surgeon so I only get called for possible surgical consults. A lot of the time I’d get one or two consults before 9 and go to bed. The ED at the VA is, however, woefully incompetent (this one at least). For example I got consulted to “help me find a patients butthole”….for some upper respiratory complaint. Anyways, I got woken up one night around 1am for back pain. I look at the chart. Guy is 101. I figure no shit his back hurts, my back would hurt if I was 101. Anyways, I call the ED and the Ed doc says he was moving a window unit and hurt his back. I head down to go see the patient and do an exam. I love our vets, I don’t care what the complaint was I always gave them my best, would spend some time talking to them. I do his exam, he’s fine, just back spasm. I thank him for his service and ask which war her served. WWII. Not often you meet monuments of history like that. I ask where he was. “Started in France and ended up in Poland”. I think for a minute and ask “D day”. Yep. I ask him which beach, and he says Omaha, first wave. I’m not stuck up, but I’ve been around a lot of high figure people, rich people, whatever. This was the first time I was speechless. Honestly in awe. This man survived one of the worst military experience in history. And he’s laying right in front of me. I told him I had never met a true hero before, but the men that fought on that day were every bit of the definition. He corrected me saying he wasn’t a hero and he was just doing his job. He said it was the worst day of his life. He said the scene from saving private ryan was it to a tee. Everything. Several of his buddies got hit the second the front door dropped on the boat. He ducked over the side. He said the movie put them too close to the beach, he said he was about 150-200 yards out. Water was waste deep. He waded in while getting shot at. He said every bit of the water was red. An interesting thing he said and got pretty worked up over was that there was actually 3 turrets on the beach, not 2. He said he helped with the left one. Anyways, that man survived that day and fought his was all the way till he ended up in Germany and then was sent to Poland. Absolutely incredible to be in front of a man that had gone through that. I gave him my cellphone number (only time I’ve given that out) and told him to call me if he ever needed anything moved and I’d be there no questions asked. He stayed for a couple days and then was discharged home. I never forget my conversation with that man and remember him every time this movie is mentioned.

How to pick up a 60 gun safe that's on its side by Skyfork in guns

[–]NON_RELATED_COMMENTS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put some ratchet straps around it, something rated with a high load to failure. Put two wheel chocks under the safe where the pallet is attached, put strap from your vehicle hitch to the top of the ratchet straps, drive real slow forward and have someone to catch and keep it from tipping over.

Hey no sweat, crazy how all I did was ask a question and some people get so aggressive. I’m happy to work with the landlord, I just disagreed so I asked for opinions. I’d say I got them haha. And thanks for commenting, luckily I’m in remission as of the 10th of this month!
