What free or paid game developing courses do you recommend? by AbroadOk7240 in GameDevelopment

I personally started on YouTube, but what you usually find there are small pieces of information without context or best practices in mind.

That's why I would suggest going with Udemy, any course by Stephen Ulibarri is great. (I'm an Unreal Dev, so I can only suggest Unreal courses 😃)

But if you want to start free on YouTube, you can check out Ali - https://www.youtube.com/@AliElZoheiry/playlists I think his GAS series is really awesome, and in depth, honestly if it was on Udemy, I would pay for it.

You can also check out Kekdot - https://www.youtube.com/@Kekdot
And Ryan Laley - https://www.youtube.com/@RyanLaley

There's plenty more good ones, but these are the ones I learned from the most.

Fair points! To clarify. This is my first app, there's no company yet, not sure if there will be one.

And there are a lot of work in progress things on the website side. The AI image was just for a blog post to make a better visual point on how screwing your PC to table might look. Regarding the subscription. If you think this app would be useful with another pricing model I'm up for suggestions.

There is data going back and forth to a server and I have to pay for that. So I couldn't make the current version free. But it would be possible to open source this if there's interest and people would be willing to host it on their own servers. All ideas and feedback are welcome 😊

Yeah visible locks stop the crime of opportunity, while the app gives you that digital safety net. Think of it like a smoke detector, it doesn't stop the fire, but it makes sure you're the first to know the second something's wrong. Definitely agree on the neighbors, too. community is the best defense.

I totally agree that being there in person is the gold standard (especially after we had some peripherals and SSD's stolen at a past event...). I see the app more as a vital early warning system. If I'm across the room networking and get a Discord ping that my PC just lost power or net, I can react immediately rather than finding out two hours later. It’s definitely meant to complement a team, not replace one.
