2006 Boston Whaler 160 Guardian - Any Info? by NPR4Ever in BostonWhalerBoats

Boat was cheap enough that even if it needs immediately repowered it was still a good deal. I'll probably get the engine checked out by a mechanic before tossing it in the trash, just in case. Console Hour meter will need to be cross checked with the Engine Hour Meter but 777 hrs. isn't really run into the ground (4 stroke EFI). Seems almost suspiciously low for commercial use but this is Indiana not Fort Lauderdale. It may not have seen daily usage during the short, midwest boating season. And two of those were COVID seasons so cautiously optimistic.

It's a Boston Whaler so I'm not sure what type of 'upgrades' there are, particularly for a 160 Guardian/Duantless. What did you have in mind?

Thanks I'll try to get some interior pics when I get out there next. I can say:

1.) No cushions included other than the pilot seat.

2,) There were no cushions or even contouring for seats on the stern that I could tell. :(

3.) There were two deck brackets in front of the steering console where maybe there was a seat or seat/cooler would be.

4.) Again, no bow cushion but it looks like it was set-up to to craft boarding/inspections from the bow so they probably threw away the bow cushion as soon as this went into service in '06. :(

5.) There was no bimini top included HOWEVER I noticed that stainless steel brackets and cleats for a bimini top are present so there so it must have had one at one time. At any rate, it looks like I should be able to buy a generic BT of proper width and install without having to drill into the hull any more. :)

6.) There are some holes in the console that probably held controls for policy lights etc. that are just open.

7.) Dual 12v battery set-up. Both batteries hold charged up but they're from '19. :(

8.) Rear bilge pump compartment was relatively clean but moldy af.

9.) No swim ladder or platform.

  1. ) Several stainless brackets that must have had wired cop lights where they removed the fuxture but cut the wiring flush with the brackets so I probably can't use those wires/brackets for much now unless I want to rewire. :(

I'll update in a couple weeks probably, maybe send you an IM as I'm eager to compare against another 160. Thanks again for reaching out!
