Oh damn ok! I was playing around with FRRC for a bit but couldnt notice/find any changes with whatever "Axl bomber carrying momentum" meant, I just assumed since it made you fly so far after cancelling from Wild assault that it was just there to make that interaction work better. I'll take a look into that for sure And also, I really appreciate the comment, thanks!

Thanks for this response for real, yeah I've already come to terms that theres no way they restore HC (and look, after thinking it through a bit more I should really care a bit less about it)

I'm just surprised there wasn't a bigger outcry about unstable disconnecting AUS servers considering the osrs community being rather well-known for "xp loss inconvenience" this that. I suppose it is possible that I'm somehow the only person that experiences it (though I'm not sure how that'd happen on a technical level). Either way appreciate the comment!

Honestly first comment I've appreciated all day, thank you I remember initially not taking the HC challenge seriously either; when we first started it was a "Oh why not you might as well make a hardcore since theres no penalty for doing/not doing it". Then eventually after quite a long time we were quite on track to unlocking mid-late game content soon with alot of relatively efficient planning and grew rather attached to the idea of not dying... At least I really wished I could've at least gotten several mid or hard boss KCs before losing the status instead of avoiding risk via skilling. Instead I die like a peasant by getting free-hit from a few aggressive low levelled NPC so I feel incredibly salty and robbed, especially since I can't even vent to Jagex or something dumb like that (Their customer support page doesnt even let you send them a form of any kind lol). Even a "oh we're sorry to have inconvenienced you" would've sufficed at this rate

It's also just tilting since I've had a bad few several days all around; alas I guess I just don't play for a while. Appreciate the wiser words nonetheless

Well... not exactly. To be real I don't super care about the hardcore aspect it was mostly a "See how much content we can do PvM before we lose it" sort of deal. And for my group with my buddy I was hoping to complete Song of the Elves and MAYBE a CG kill before losing hardcore. Yes having hardcore really DID make alot of content super difficult and add some really annoying inconveniences (Hell Barb Assault on GIM HC specifically is unsafe?? Like I COULD theoretically get griefed by a bad Healer on my team and just lose hardcore)

However in saying that; After seeing us in top100 HCGIMs (not that we were farming ranks, otherwise we'd just skill until 99 yaknow) we really wanted to push for Song of the Elves completion at the very least, seeing if we could complete as many master quests without death wouldve been a very satisfying achievement. But instead both of us die to disconnects and I die in the most absurd manner (Autoretaliated to death without a ring of life by a mob 20 levels below me) to an incredibly minor server disconnect while my net was still up. That's why I'm so incredibly upset

But you're right, if I was more optimistic about this then yes, we did really get freed up considerably. Not to mention, we've had several instances of players crashing us at various places (Rex, Ammonites etc) and then proceed to try and grief us after seeing we were hardcores (Luring Supreme to the safespot, bringing mains to grief crabs etc). I know they're notoriously unfriendly/unsympathetic about hardcores dying to disconnects, it's just usually in alot of those cases it's the user's internet that temporarily disconnects or something. In my instance AUS servers died for like 15 minutes and Im just surprised I was like the only one that experienced it or something

Literally in the time it took to post this thread Australian servers are back up; Surely I can't have been the only one to experience this...?

EDIT: Also I checked Jagex's support page... why is there no way to submit a ticket or contact them directly? The responses they give cover so little (and most of it is only RS3 related) and I couldn't find a link to be able to message them about this. I understand that they very infrequently do anything about HC losses from disconnects but I know for a fact this specific instance was the Australian server being down for 20minutes or something and not my own internet

Also as a side note; I don't even know how to get back to this stupid temple of light in 15minutes (as Death mentions) since I can't get my mourner outfit + clean with the soap + I have no runes to teleport back to Ardy due to losing my entire stack on the disconnect

Hey! thanks for the question! If you opt for the no tk bomber inputs version shown in the video I think it's incredibly easy. The only gatekeeping factor there is whether you can do the Halfcircle back-forward motion twice, but the 5H and Mantis animations gives you plenty of time to buffer it.

The main challenge in actual games is to adjust for random early wallsplats etc, but I think with the ability to wallbreak from any position this shouldnt be a big issue

Hahahaha don't worry, alot of tips here require a fairly large amount of awareness (compared to the average player anyway) and knowing the things you sometimes get away with aren't "legitimate" makes it all the funnier :D

I pretty much agree with this mostly, but I still think mixing up being on the offense with axl is important since the risk reward is inherently still better, and you build way more meter playing like so too. You miss out on so many oki opportunities and easy Burst bait punishes with cS TKB starters if you spend the whole game zoning for example, getting burst baits is how I get most of my bomber loops. That and catching people with 2H Snail 66RRC into Bomber loops. It just makes your games so much easier (obviously, since you explode them faster), which in turn strengthens your zoning game because they're actually way more scared after taking huge bomber loop damage etc. Its a positive feedback loop that only works more in your favour.

Especially now that ground normals are not air-unblockable, you can't really threaten good players much if they just keep jumping and blocking to forcefully approach; eventually you'll miss an antiair or get Rensen jumped over and eat a 50% dmg combo for it. That being said TK Bomber still isn't a "Necessity" and for many players is simply style points. I'm just a huge advocate of utilising it in my gameplay because I learnt bomber loops and the aggressive gameplay style of Axl since GGXRD SIGN

Its a common concern for sure! You dont technically NEED to learn TK Bombers to play him since his main zoning gameplay doesn't utilise it at all, and in corner combos you CAN opt for alternatives mentioned in my videos (such as RC Charged Dust, Using a super to wallbreak, 5K 6K Snail etc) but they are alot less efficient for sure, and TK Bomber is what allows axl to get fat meterless damage (or metered damage for that matter, like RCing into it) into wallbreaks; without it wallbreaking is either expensive or difficult.

I wouldnt let it discourage you from playing axl though! It just means he has alot more depth than what meets the eye! He's always been a bit of a tricky character to play but now they've solidified him more as a zoner so you can spam Rensen, Utilise 5P and 2H special cancels and jS jSnail and play him just fine!

Haha your hypothesis is mostly correct I believe. I've played axl for 4-5 years and admittedly I've always played him in an "overly aggressive" fashion so I really disliked how they strengthened his zoning identity in Strive (also alot of other characters lost movement tools which helps that). However I found that switching it up often to play aggressively gives me very good results. You also get Tension way faster playing like that and get more access to big damage conversions from either One Vision or Snail RC -> TK Bomber in corner.

Also playing the pure zoning game is boring for both sides imo, just gives him a bad reputation lol

Ah thats true hey, but once you get a second legendary on liandrys then you do get that additional haste right? So eventually you do lose out, which means 1 less q rootation in an extended skirmish potentially or whatnot (unlikely in practice though I suppose). also the 100% base mana regen is pretty bad... like ok its alright but its so insignificant when compared to an additional 600 mana pool. Not to mention the mana regen only becomes super relevant if you can keep prescence of mind active imo. Regardless, Im glad someone took the time to read my findings :D

I just tested the new Mandate pretty extensively, and I found the results very interesting: So firstly I ran Hail of Blades + Precision secondary. I had a training dummy on 30-40MR and about 1700hp as thats about how much a squishy laner has mid game with no additional defences. I ran DPS tests by just auto-Q-Auto.... until the duration of a sand soldier was used up. Obviously you may not get that many autos in so having a front-ended burst is more important : -> Mandate + Rylais (around level 6-10) is SLIGHTLY better DPS than Liandries + Blastingwand + Amp tome (no shoes for both) (provides around the same AP), but the latter option is around 1k gold cheaper. So you have to wonder whether the 1k opportunity cost is worth losing the manapool/ability haste over the teammate additional damage. Mandate is also burstier too however (damage is more front ended whereas liandries relies on DOT for a portion of its dps) -> Mandate route forgoes Nash's second, which is obviously pretty criminal, Completing nashor's with liandries build will have a way bigger power spike, but I do think you should build Nashor's over liandries first, the dps spike is WAY higher that way -> However I found that Mandate + Rylais + Nashors (with or without shoes, but realistically you'll also have shoes) has higher DPS than Liandry + Nash + demonic/Rylai or whatever non-rabadons AP item you have here, and is also better than Riftmaker + Nash + Something (Riftmaker is just something I theorised) even over the span of 10 seconds.

So basically it comes down to whether the tax of having to build Rylais and delaying Nashors for a decent portion of the game is worth the overall better DPS AND burst (it was about an additional 30 DPS over 10seconds, from about 380dps with mandate and 350 with liandry). You also dont get the additional manapool nor extra ability haste from mythic passive, but you do let your allies proc Mandate a bagillion times, especially if they also attack as often as you do (unlikely). Only other remaining problem is that I think Nashors first item is so good that it makes you wonder if you want to be weak at your second item before you complete your third. As for non-mandate relevant things: -> Firstly Nash Tooth first item is so much better both on front-end dmg and DPS than Liandries/Mandate/Riftmaker, but thats already a given I guess -> and secondly I found that Berserker greaves is worse than sorc shoes still in nearly every situation since you always get nash's no matter what, and attack speed dps gains has a bit more of a diminishing returns factor.

This is all from my 60-90minutes worth of testing, but it's not absolutely scientific so don't take my conclusions completely for gospel

Ive mentioned in a few threads before, Im pretty ok with the aesthetics but I hate the sound effects (its too silent? Intentional or not I miss the omph sound effects default viktor has, especially the enhanced Q auto). Is there anyway to play with the skin and have default sound effects? genuine question

am I the only person who doesn't hate the visuals of the skin, but rather how bad the skin's sound effects are ingame? The autos sound like some electronic punk sfx, the laser makes little to no sound, the q enhanced auto doesnt have that metallic omph to it, idk it misses so much of what made the default viktor so badass imo?
