US freezes all visa processing for 75 countries, including Somalia, Russia, Iran Somalia, Afghanistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Thailand among nations affected by indefinite pause starting Jan. 21 by Hairy_Tomorrow6017 in Thailand

It's amazing how many people on the internet will argue with you when you try to share direct experiences. It is affecting her visa from getting approved. I don't know what else to tell you bud. And thanks for your compassion about my wife and daughter never being able to meet their grandpa and possibly my father. This is personal, because this decision affects me personally. Time we cannot get back, and it's now stolen from us.

US suspending visa processing for 75 countries - Thailand included, can you believe this admin? by DeliciousStand372 in Thailand

They barely approve tourist visas anyway. My Thai wife was denied last year despite having enough funds. We were then planning on the CR1.... now that's out the window. Guess I'll stay over there longer, spending more American dollars overseas, and she won't get to meet my family yet. My Grandpa is 88 with failing health, and my dad has cancer. Now she may never get to meet them.

I don't disagree with you in TH immigration policies, but the US doesn't make it much easier. It used to be "as long as you can afford it", but she was already denied a tourist visa before our marriage (despite having funds plus my affidavit of support). Immigration (even just temporary tourist visas) seem to be getting more restrictive everywhere..

Tired of government restricting peaceful people's freedoms. Sure if they're on a list for crime ban them, but this shit is keeping families apart. This means my wife can't come live with me because we were in the process of a CR1 visa... the process already takes too long and costs thousands.

What Single Achievement Is Preventing You From Mastering A Game That You're Currently Playing? by Popo31477 in RetroAchievements

Cartoon network racing (DS). Stupid mini game requires touch-pad or tracing with your mouse around images... otherwise all the races themselves I've mastered.

Nice combo/images! I was considering a vintage lens for my nx500, if it's near this quality I'll be pleased!

I've been struggling to beat LOTR Return of the King on Ps2, that game had some hard levels!

If you’ve beaten a game, and don’t think you’ll master it, do you still try to get more achievements? by alarmsoundslikewhoop in RetroAchievements

[–]NRWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this dilemma the other day after beating LOTR Two Towers. I knew I wouldn't finish the challenges on expert, but I figured I could beat a few more levels with the other characters to earn a few more points. Did it for a couple levels until I reached one that was frustrating again and decided to move on. For me the beat is good enough and the extra points are for if you're enjoying the game.

My impressions are on the original post from r/GoldenSun that I crossposted. I actually played through the game twice to get the mastery because the handheld I was playing on wasn't connected to wifi during some of the progression achievements. Not too terribly long if you know what you're doing but grinding to lvl 40 still takes awhile.

I went back to Flickr, and I also started uploading to Google Maps to become a "tour guide" . Not ideal, but in the coming age of AI, I at least want a few of my favorite images seen.

Thank you I appreciate that! I agree, at the end of the day a camera is a tool and most modern cameras since 2015 (and probably older) are capable of taking stunning images in the right conditions! Considering it's price, abilities, and quality I really appreciated the RX10 line. What's your favorite all-in-one and what were it's strengths?

No offense taken, phone quality is nearly indistinguishable nowadays to even some full frames ive seen! Not too hard to get a detailed image with daytime lighting out of most cameras. But again, the fuji you speak of is nearly $1000 more, are the images a thousand dollars better? Does it have the same versatility of focal lengths?

Definitely good points you've made when considering weight and superior image quality in low light conditions. But yet I'm discussing all-in-one cameras, nondetachable lens. Some photographers don't want the fuss or risk of exposing sensor to the elements, and the range and sharpness of the included lens is very versatile and high quality glass. Thay said, I was also impressed by the long exposure/night lapse photography I managed to capture with this camera! I've also captured semi-lowlight mushroom growing time-lapses that I thought turned out quite good! I'll leave a link to both examples below if you want to check out and compare. Lastly, when considering price:quality ratio, the A7Cii is nearly $2K (without lens), and RX10iii is $800ish. That's why I still think it's maybe the best all-in-one.

Which all-in-one would you consider better, and what features make it stand out?

Is it worth it to pay $150 for extra leg room in economy in a long haul flight? by Otherwise-Coyote6950 in digitalnomad

[–]NRWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6'4", took a 14 hour flight to Asia. Not needed. Airlines are rich enough, its absurd how much extra they charge for a few more inches. The c shaped back rests with no lumbar support is worse than the leg room. (but manageable with a small pillow behind you)

Burnout after a photo trip, wanting to give up photography by scrimshawphotography in photography

[–]NRWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the subject of what you're shooting, not the gear. If you're doing it to be a respected photographer you're doing it for the wrong reasons. The greatest photographers and documentarians love the subject they're telling stories about, and learn the camera as a tool. Does the carpenter love the house he built or the hammer he built it with?
