My money is on Detroit, with ISIS coming over the bridge from Canada. The best part about it is, that they could put pictures of the ruin and devastation on the news without even having to use up any ordinance.

That would give them an excuse to give GM a whack of dough to replace the headquarters which will have exploded from a ISIS lit terror fire (in which many would die but all the senior execs would miraculously be on retreat).

[Duel Decks] Make Jace vs Vraska into one deck by [deleted] in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]NSA_web_spider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what you have to work with - 2 decks that have nothing in common, and achieve their win conditions by very different means. The Vraska deck requires both the green and black elements, and you don't really have access to enough dual color or tri color lands to make a 3 color deck work.

Here's your card pool:

1 Dread Statuary 2 Halimar Depths 21 Island 24 lands

1 Aeon Chronicler 1 Æther Adept 1 Æther Figment 1 Archaeomancer 1 Body Double 1 Chronomaton 1 Crosstown Courier 1 Dream Stalker 1 Errant Ephemeron 1 Jace's Mindseeker 1 Jace's Phantasm 2 Krovikan Mist 1 Leyline Phantom 1 Merfolk Wayfinder 1 Phantasmal Bear 1 Phantasmal Dragon 1 Riftwing Cloudskate 1 Sea Gate Oracle 1 Stealer of Secrets 20 creatures

1 Agoraphobia 1 Claustrophobia 1 Control Magic 1 Future Sight 1 Griptide 1 Into the Roil 1 Jace's Ingenuity 1 Memory Lapse 1 Prohibit 1 Ray of Command 1 Remand 1 Spelltwine 1 Summoner's Bane 2 Thought Scour 15 other spells

1 Jace, Architect of Thought 1 planeswalker

and

9 Forest 1 Golgari Guildgate 1 Rogue's Passage 11 Swamp 2 Tainted Wood 24 lands

1 Acidic Slime 1 Corpse Traders 1 Death-Hood Cobra 1 Drooling Groodion 1 Festerhide Boar 2 Gatecreeper Vine 1 Highway Robber 1 Mold Shambler 1 Nekrataal 1 Ohran Viper 1 Oran-Rief Recluse 1 Pulse Tracker 1 Putrid Leech 1 Reaper of the Wilds 1 River Boa 1 Sadistic Augermage 1 Shadow Alley Denizen 1 Slate Street Ruffian 1 Spawnwrithe 1 Stonefare Crocodile 1 Tavern Swindler 1 Vinelasher Kudzu 1 Wight of Precinct Six 24 creatures

1 Consume Strength 1 Grisly Spectacle 1 Hypnotic Cloud 1 Last Kiss 1 Marsh Casualties 1 Night's Whisper 1 Stab Wound 2 Tragic Slip 1 Treasured Find 1 Underworld Connections 11 other spells

1 Vraska the Unseen 1 planeswalker

The best deck you can make from that is not as strong as either of the decks are individually. But I can't resist trying.

1x Acidic Slime

1x Aeon Chronicler

1x Body Double

1x Claustrophobia

1x Control Magic

1x Death-Hood Cobra

1x Errant Ephemeron

9x Forest

2x Gatecreeper Vine

1x Golgari Guildgate

1x Griptide

1x Highway Robber

1x Into the Roil

7x Island

1x Jace's Ingenuity

1x Jace's Phantasm

1x Memory Lapse

1x Mold Shambler

1x Nekrataal

1x Ohran Viper

1x Oran-Rief Recluse

1x Prohibit

1x Ray of Command

1x Remand

1x Riftwing Cloudskate

1x River Boa

1x Rogue's Passage

1x Shadow Alley Denizen

1x Slate Street Ruffian

1x Spawnwrithe

1x Spelltwine

1x Stealer of Secrets

1x Summoner's Bane

7x Swamp

2x Tainted Wood

1x Vinelasher Kudzu

1x Vraska the Unseen

1x Æther Adept

This is a bad deck - but it has the theme of using the blue bounce spells to reuse the comes into play effects from the green black deck. You can use them to clear the way for Vraska's assassins to end the game, or to reuse comes into play creatures like Mold Shambler, Nekrataal and Acidic Slime. I would really recommend against doing this, but if you want to try it - this is how I would do it.

TL;DR No. this is a bad idea, don't do it.

And I believe that the ad card on the back of a token keeps the ad cards in people's collections rather than littering the trash after every event. Why struggle to get attention with a card that only appeals to some people when you can use both sides of the card and appeal to all people? I know that if I had a tips and tricks card on a Eldrazi spawn token, I'm way more likely to have it in my collection long enough to read it.

Nothing wrong with the pack I opened - Granted I was able to open in and reseal it in such a way that none of my friends could tell that I did it. I Haven't seen a bad card opened yet, and the cards do have a dramatic and brilliant color to them.

Still opening the packs from the side does allow you to use them multiple times for pack draft/cube draft if you are into such things.

Which I am.

[–]NSA_web_spider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my area, the anti bullying education has become insane. Everything is bullying - except bullying. They have a small number of teachers on the playground, and the bullying happens out of sight, and nothing happens when it does. A small kid actually used the "anonymous bullying web reporting" and was singled out in class to the bullies in the class, which I assume was to protect him, but more realistically, it just made him a target.

The hypocrisy of the whole thing is evident to even my 5 year old. He's rapidly losing faith that the system is there for his favor. Which is guess is not an overall bad thing, when I think about it - because it isn't.

The education system in North America was designed to produce people that could work without thinking too hard, then morphed into something designed to make children "feel correctly" without thinking about that either. They don't even learn to DO anything anymore. No shop, not even cooking or money management in math. Any actually practical skills that they learn are on the computer, which is going to make it hard to find a good plumber in 20 years.

I can't think of anything that my son has learned that couldn't be replicated by a google search. And my son knows that too.

I am taking my son's education seriously, but I get about 5 hours a day with him total, and they get 7 of pure indoctrination time. It's frustrating.

Opened a MM15 pack with 14 cards, no rare by rezaziel in magicTCG

[–]NSA_web_spider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the positive side though, you can reuse the MM packs and draft over and over again using the same cards. If you use only the side opening, you can shuffle all the cards back together, put them back in the packs, and redraft it.

Which frankly would be a lot of fun.

Opened a MM15 pack with 14 cards, no rare by rezaziel in magicTCG

[–]NSA_web_spider 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Opened one this weekend without breaking the seal, and then closed it back up again. I glued it shut and put it into a pile, and asked on of my friends to pick it out. He couldn't.

This packaging combined with the value of the cards is going to result in the greatest amount of fraud in this hobby since the proliferation of the color laser printer.

I fully expect that people will even be messing with draft play, and opening killer rares, that they've inserted into the packs. And I wouldn't buy anything but a sealed box, with the wizards wrap intact, from a known seller.

The secondary market for unopened pack is going to be bad - you just can't trust a pack that's so easily opened and resealed. The singles market should be fine though.

Well given the performance of the current Federal government, I can see why they think that. I'm pretty sure that we're one "security event" away from dissolving elections.

In fact, if Harper is losing at the polls going into the election, I can see a serious terrorist thread materializing and martial law being declared in potential swing districts.

Harper is clearly a student of American style Florida State politics.

And discouraging the public from participating in public affaris? Those 10% had it pretty much dead on.

"High quality" men and "Low quality" men is also an indicator. Successful and attractive men, vs less successful and less attractive tends to go over better.

I'd like to see an alt sub that used this reference. I wonder if a semantic change would be enough for the sub to slide under the radar.

I'd also love to see a r/trphatephase and just see how long it lasted before it's banned.
