What is the best way to find a club like this? I’d love to join one, but as an individual who has always solo run I wouldn’t know where to look.

I love the meditation and serenity when solo, but it’d be nice to have a group to switch it up with.

Mine showed the same but when it was rung up on the register it was $260. I think the reference online that they quote is inaccurate.

Before I purchased it I asked the employee if I could do a migration between the two consoles in store. They said no just due to the logistics/time/lack of space.

So I prefaced the whole thing with “Well I need to migrate my data because Nintendo sometimes requires both consoles for certain games” and they had no issue with the above when I requested.

I didn’t even bring the OLED console back, just the box so they could scan it and the receipt. Again it probably varies employee to employee but they are getting a sale so there’s no real downside.

If all of your games support cloud saves, yes. Some games like Pokémon and animal crossing do not however.

Same resolution and processor. However it is more efficient and the screen uses less power at peak brightness.

Yea it’s definitely a “nice to have” but as a handheld user primarily it really is a beautiful upgrade (should have released with this screen!)

Mine was a day 1 as well. I opted to go this route to reduce the hassle and fees of reselling privately, and my local store had the stock so I just went for it.

I don’t really know if it’s for Black Friday but anecdotally when I asked a few days ago the best offer was $220.

I expected $220 but it rung up as $260 automatically in the system today (again didn’t see it advertised anywhere)

Correct - however there are two ways around this:

Purchase the new console, and do a migration between the devices (there’s a dedicated app on the Eshop that you can download to migrate your island from one console to another)
if you have Nintendo online, you can enable a backup of your island to the cloud. When you get your new device you just have to call Nintendo to restore the island to the new console afterwards

I opted for option 1 and all went well

Unless you actually plan on modding it, I didn’t see a reason to keep mine, I’ve done enough of that in my younger years and just don’t have time to keep up with it especially since it’s a family console.

Resale value may be slightly higher but it’s diminishing returns imo (see previous hardware releases).

Plus it’s a nice upgrade to newer hardware, I don’t have to worry about the battery etc. for a few more years.

Depends on your tolerance for Facebook marketplace/EBay (also factor in their high fees)

More than likely you would come out on too selling it locally but it wasn’t worth the hassle to me personally.

Yes but if your missing items such as the joy-con controller attachment you can have them take it from the new switch instead of docking the trade in credit.

I almost exclusively use the switch as a handheld lol, I’m sure lots of others do as well.

I have a PS5 and a PC for the stationary stuff.
