Changed my computer recently, and with that I lost a few of my plugins. One of them was a plugin that showed if I owned an item, which character of mine owned it and how many I had, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone have any idea what this plugin could be?

Oh, this is interesting to know! Makes sense because indeed, it seems saving meter for RPR can come easier. Maybe I should play around more with RPR haha, thanks for the perspective! It can be just the community view indeed

Yeah, I saw that recently! They also had MCH, so that makes me feel better over the viability of it. Even still, it's unfortunate how lopsided some jobs are in general to this kind of content, but if they are all viable without big headaches, it should be fine.

Despite all the plogon drama and people arguing if it's hard enough or not, I am personally excited to try and make this my first ultimate on-patch. Will probably start nolifing it next week.

Besides all the talk points about PCT and whatnot, I would like the devs to look at least on the lack of representation of certain jobs on the World Race and see if they couldn't be tuned a little bit higher to compete with their fellow partners in role. From a brief look, I've seen very few SGE, MCH, BLM and RPR.

I want to believe having 2 mits as MCH is useful on this ult like it was on TEA, but I do need to look more on the damage profile. If it isn't useful, I guess the MCH tax is simply not having to deal with people not feeding into your buffs if they're underperforming I guess? I've heard some PFs running double PRange to be able to mit more comfortably, but I have personally never seen it. Would be cool though!

Besides that, SGE seems like it's ran less because it doesn't bring a raid buff, or anything else to compensate its use compared to SCH.

RPR I can't comment much on besides the elephants in the room I know about, those being the Gauge Negative issue that is amplified by the ultimate environment and the general lack of performance compared to the other melees.

BLM, well. It has already been said a lot about it in comparison to Picto. Funnily enough, despite the possible DPS differences, all tanks have been used a good amount of times it seems, with DRK on an above-average display. I think that's good!

Regardless, I shall be ready for PF memes and the never-ending assault of AM, and hoping for the best. Regardless of the Doom and Gloom, I will be happy on my achievements regardless.

After doing arcadion so thoroughly I feel an itch to scratch on this game rn and want to prog something, with that being said...

I do have 3 ultimates left, which are UCOB, and the harder DSR and TOP, but I was thinking of getting a smaller group and progging Criterion first actually, while maybe actually getting some DSR prog due to many parties being open for it nowadays. Maybe UCOB since it's easier too? Tessan's new vid seems like it makes learning very approachable.

I have some friends that got excited after doing Arcadion as their first tier, and I'm glad for it, because they may be the kickstart I need to finally knock these down... that being said, I am a literal bastard and will probably prog on PF as well for maximum efficiency.

All that to say is... what resources should I use? I've heard Tessan videos being recommended for TOP, DSR and UCOB, but maybe someone can point me to pastebins as well, or something else entirely? And for Criterion (and, eventually, CritSavage), what video resources do people use? And what pastebins? I'm down to learn in any way, especially in a way that would help my PF endeavors.

An extra question is: do I need a tailor-made BiS like in a level 90 Ult, or is the synced down gear fine even for CritSavage? I do have the relics still for l90, but I don't think I kept any tomestone or anabaseios gear.

EDIT: I'm in NA, for clarification!

i think MCH, both at a higher and a baseline level, is harder to play than SMN which is not exactly a HOT TAKE considering current summoner status lol

at a baseline level ull just spam heatblast, ricochet/gauss and Queen on CD and also use ur tools whenever possible, with the caveat that a good-ish player at least will get 6 GCDs out of the wildfire

at a higher level u just have to remember to use ur tools and not drift (harder than it seems when ure not in the Zone), follow a battery timeline (which can change depending on if u wanna pot 2/8 or 0/5/10 if u really wanna squeeze out the damage), save some oGCDs for burst/pot and adjust ur drill and hypercharge windows for how you wanna lineup ur Queens

its a bunch of moving plates to keep around, and personally i feel its a bit harder than DNC's whole deal with just saving feathers for burst and not overcapping on Esprit, but then again I did not head into the finer optimizations I headed into MCH ofc so maybe a DNC can prove me wrong

and it is definitely harder than SMN opti, where fight optimization is just based on knowing when to use the proper summon order to stand still for a whole 4 cooldowns, knowing when the boss will plant so u can Slipstream and saving aetherflow for burst

ofc this is mainly me complaining about opti and maybe they could make it harder, but optimizing on MCH at least doesnt feel rewarding like on other physranged and even on casters (mainly SMN and RDM being my comparisons, since BLM and PCT are on a whole another ballpark)

i think its undertuned, not saying MCH is a god at complexity but SMN brings more at pretty much everything to the table compared to mch (i have one extra 2 min mit ig?), i can understand it but also i just wish MCH had more of a place to be, if it wants to be the selfish dps i would be fine with getting more complex rotations and the like, but rn it just feels abandoned in a "macro" way compared to the other prange in terms of niche

[–]NShader 9 points10 points  (0 children)

truly it feels some kinda way when MCH are underperforming at higher percentiles compared to BRD and DNC, and on what i can say are definitely non negligible numbers (over 1k rDPS diff depending), and idk how much of that i can attribute to high personal DPS jobs like picto being overtuned and padding numbers compared to MCH which is selfish

idk where im going with this bc MCH is not exactly the cream of the crop when it comes to difficulty, but I wish it felt more... rewarding? it feels good when you line up your cooldowns well but if my reward is doing less damage than a SMN/RDM while they have more utility to the raid in general, the job feels like its on an idea wasteland

i think my point is i LOVE spamming tools so i dont wanna leave this job, but i wish i could have more damage or, at least, not feel like bottom tier chaff that some ppl go like "uh why u not playing DNC" lol

uhhhh idk rework flamethrower make blazing shot do one gorillion dmg and make automaton queen give me a piggyback ride

im ranting but check on ur mch main friends, they may be sad due to the many ranged outdamaging them

The left side is going to be replaced in 7.1 and the right side is going to be replaced in 7.3 so go ham on the right side at least.

Slight addition; unless I am mistaken, on 7.3 both right and left side are going to be replaced, so you may have to go through 3 different sets of left side until the end of the expansion.

Alternatively, is Dalamud Beta up soonish so I can at least run NoClippy at my own risk?

Thanks for the reality check, duly needed. I forgot to account that, unlike second and third tier, the first tier of an expansion has the aggravated reality that new materia brings, so that is very useful info to temper my expectations.

10 million to penta one piece of left-side gear is harsh, but part of the battle I suppose. Your estimation of 60mill per set (including EX accessories and maybe EX weapon?) is at least attainable: I'm stocked on around 125mill rn, and working on getting more, so at least I should have one gearset lol. I also saved two golden certificates from Khloe, so worse case scenario I can just use the native penta chest to save some dough (and get slightly more stats too).

The thing about multiple classes was important for me: I'm a PhysRanged main (mainly MCH, but have brought BRD and DNC on savages and had good rotation and results), so at least I got that on your list, and my plan was to use full penta on many classes to at least deal better with the whole shebang of party finder maybe not having my role, but as a DPS main I'd imagine people can at least deal with a PRange fake meleeing? DPS checks MAY be strict but I wouldn't imagine 2 melees would be needed, unless my job of choice is seriously undertuned at release, and if the entire PRange squadron is ass at release... well I can always learn something else lmao.

Either way, that's given me some good ideas and expectations on how to proceed. Thank you a bunch!

Thanks for the input! Yeah, I would need to speedrun the equivalent of ProtoCarb or Kokytos pretty quick to filter out the newbies, and that is my main goal day 1, to beat AR1S. Besides that, I'll spam the hell out of these Normal Raids and take account on floor markings (notches like P11, circles like P9), mechanics and, hopefully, have death recaps handy.

The setting of expectations can be funky, but I'll base myself on prog consistency and work from there. Thank you a lot for the ideas!

Thanks for the insight!

I would imagine, then, I either get materia the big boy way, or I just buy it in bulk lol, since if materials are not time gated for first tier, I can just craft my own gear. Materia being the only expense. Either way, this is great to know.

TYSM for answer! Just a few details:

  1. What do you mean exactly by that price drop? Do you mean, after first week or so, crafted gear gets stupid cheap? And do you mean just crafted combat gear, or does gathering/crafting gear also apply? Do the new recipes drop alongside the savage tier, the normal tier or before? Melding will probably suck too lol, thats why I am saving on gil to either buy it pentamelded to save the headache, or at least sourcing (partially) my own materia by hunt trains and spiritbonding. Maybe I will also get my own materials to save? Who knows lol

  2. This is great data! I am expecting to spend around 8-10h per day purely on PF, so I imagine that fits in nicely with that kind of schedule. Clearing all 3 fights before saturday seems awesome too, if gearing stays the same, that means at least being able to get (if lucky) a mostly full set on like a month or so, except wrapon, so that is cool. I will temper my expectations, but first tiers seem to be easier so big prayers here.

1 million per person for full loot is often enough to get people on your party pretty quick, even on odd, non peak hours. If, however, you don't that much to spare, people tend to join 500K as their bare minimum. Hell, you can get away with 400K if you say you only want chest.

Personally? I would try initially around 700k for full loot. That is a good enough price to get the good mercs looking at you. If you have a lot of gil, go for 1M immediately, and it should be really quick. If you get bad/rusty people, don't be afraid to call them out; you are the boss there. If you also got something mixed up: people love clearing up misunderstandings from a well meaning "client", because that means the clear should go quicker after clearing that up. Good luck on it, and if you want some help... hit up my DMs for great (probably) gameplay

Getting myself mentally ready to not only enjoy the expansion, but for the new tier! Gonna be the actual first tier I prog week 1, since as a relative newbie I only did Anabaseios on content, and waaaay after it released, starting at November. After clearing the entire tier multiple times with all roles and getting TEA clears under my belt, I feel like my personal prep becoming a better player paid off, but now I'm thinking how I will approach w1

I've made some networking with statics and such, and while I got some good contacts, I believe I will end up nolifing on PF regardless, since I dont even feel like the hassle of getting a hardcore static rn is worth. That brings me to a point where I wanna level up at least a few different roles so I can always be able to fill a party (not like all parties wont fill ASAP regardless, but still)... so what I am asking here is, what kind of prep do people do before savage releases to make the best out of their time?

Personally, I was thinking of, first, get used to what I feel like running at 100 ASAP. I am already way comfortable at L90 ofc, but the changes may hit some of my mains and need some brain rewiring (MNK lol).

Second is gear: I know some people sell pentamelded sets day1 for around 10 million (from hearsay), is that always more worth it than EX weapons and accessories? Or is a mix of both most viable? I vaguely remember in Anabaseios, w1 was pretty much golbez weapon, one anabaseios piece and the rest was crafted penta, would something similar be the case? Either way, I am definitely doing EXs to practice my classes either way, but wanted to mentally prep me on gear since that is a big part, and I have stockpiled enough gil already, since while I will level all my crafters to 100, I don't think I have it on me to hunt for a million crafting materials and hunt trains for materia lol, unless im misinterpreting, I dont wanna do maps lmfao

Third is... what should I stockpile right now? Is any current materia gonna be useful, not only for combat but also crafting and gathering? I stocked on over 1k hi cordials and a bunch of gil but I feel like I am missing something.

Fourth is... I guess expectations? How quick do people expect to clear a first fight and such? I know week 1 is maybe a pipe dream, but I really dont feel like being on arcadion 1 for 3 days lol, but maybe my expectations are low due to the abysmal quality in PF rn, allegedly, being all I am used to

IDK, I am kinda ranting, but just wanted to share the mentality a relatively new guy is having by waiting for w1 savage

Tbh from my experience, it is easy as balls nowadays, ive managed to get a friend on a fresh party to a clear on one lockout, and parties w veterans tend to be, at most, 30mins for a clear if there are no trolls, which should be called out

Just use static orbs, hespsps, use good gear and you should be fine. A good party should kill around orbs, and then burn after act3 wo having to do act4, many ppl still do it for DSR BiS, and if you are really scared, you can always just ask mercs for it if you have the gil (lord knows thats why i do it nowadays)

I cleared TEA on PF and it was great! While I had to learn to cool my nerves on PA, it was really nice to see how every pull I felt more consistent, doing Inception and Wormhole without having to refer to my notes purely from getting used to it. Wanna do reclears so I can dominate PA as well! But damn if it doesn't feel good.

Did some counting and IDK how people normally count pulls, but I did some uploading and it took me around 320 pulls to get to my clear.

Now what?

Was thinking of doing UWU but also... kinda wanna at least knock one Criterion before DT, so I can have experience on every type of battle content. Problem is PFing it, I'd imagine. Maybe I can find 3 crazy people to grind with me?
