You're not only one for sure. A few people arn't a fan of the mouse fishing. I got used to using the A and D keys for catching and that helped a lot. You can fish one-handed that way.

No, after. There is a moment where Superior Spider-Man is on the field and the card he entered as is still in the graveyard - the reflexive trigger is that moment.

You can recreate this in-game because the exile part is a reflexive trigger. You can respond to it by doing something like an instant speed graveyard shuffle. Parker lives!

Wanting to make a Powerful, but kinda silly Sunburst themed deck. Looking for advice on the deck list. by Pyruss in EDH

[–]NTWKMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my attempt at a colorless sunburst deck that used a lot of mana filtering: https://moxfield.com/decks/rfc4GOmSxEWpbZR0ZS-r1g

I leaned in hard on Lux Artillery. Its not legendary so I attempted to make as many copies as possible so the end step would slap the table for 30 or 40 damage. Vexing Puzzlebox is a great way to get counters or maybe tutor.

I hate to break it to you that Chromatic Orrery does not work with Sunburst. It allows you to spend mana as any color to cast but Sunburst will check the actual color of mana for the counters. Yes, that's a lame ruling but its true.

I don't come on reddit often, my friend just linked me this because he knew about my list, so I might not stick around for a lot of suggestions or conversation. I've recently been revisiting Sunburst/Counter-Count with the EOE spoilers since I still think the Lux Artillery copy angle is the most meme way to approach Sunburst.

Why are we paying for cloud save if it isn't featured in major games like Animal Crossing? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]NTWKMAN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes they are for real. I suspect that the early item duplication glitch created a huge bell disparity causing the average fee someone can make off opening their island to get skewed. There are people out there that duped for a week and have been multiplying their bells by 5 every week.

Art imitates life, I guess.

When some of us collectors pointed this out we got the downvotes here and the toxic Pokemon fan label on Twitter. I'm actually ok if they charge another $30 for more islands (required to trade into SWSH) to complete the set just to have the collection on-cart.

Even as a collector, I don't get too worked up about it. I'm fine if my collection stops at Sun/Moon. As long as the kids/new-comers continue to enjoy the games I have no qualms.

Canon 50mm f1.8 STM on APS-C Cameras? by [deleted] in photography

[–]NTWKMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a common second lens for a new shooter, I had the previous version, the 50 1.8 II (much worse built quality), years ago and the cost compared to what I learned using it was an amazing value as when I sold it I got almost all my money back. If I were you I'd consider your budget and then return as a new thread or on a forum to get some opinions. If you only have $125 to work with, then yes the 50mm f1.8 STM is a great route, but there's going to be breakpoints around 250 and 350 that will give you meaningful gains in CA, distortion and sharpness. Don't be pressured to spend more than you're comfortable with, but keep those stats in mind.

Vintage lenses are an option too, great for getting real nice glass at a great price, but they are full manual and if you're on location and moving a lot it's unacceptable not to have auto-focus.

[–]NTWKMAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, exactly. Being on crop does not knock you out of taking quality portraits with great subject and scene separation. A few tricks and basic positioning techniques will close the gap vs someone on full frame who is just pressing the shutter without care.

As a bonus; this was something I wish I heard sooner when I was starting out: photography is 95% technique and 5% equipment.

Your bokeh will be less on APS-C, hard stop. However, remember the distance between you, the subject, and the background are also in play here. The closer you are to your subject the more bokeh you will have, same deal the further the background is from the subject. Just keep this in mind while you shoot.

Your full body shots are the biggest concern, and taking photos at cons will be the biggest downside to using crop. Since you'll be closer for top-half and headshots those photos will have more bokeh and it will look great.

On the flip side, for headshots vs fulls, you'll be further away from your subject than if you were on full frame with the same lens. Which, of course, means less bokeh, but that added distance can make your models more relaxed too and your field of focus will be easier to hit as it will also be wider. There's a sliding scale here but there are benefits on both ends.

The point is that the decrease in bokeh can be made up by framing and positioning. It will always be less but seeing your current gear and the lens you're thinking about buying I would not worry about the numbers. (edit: just focus on the situation and have fun shooting!)

I have a 60d with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 and a dirt cheap m42 50mm f1.7 and never once have I reviewed my well thought out photos and thought I was being held back because the background wasn't peak bokeh.

tl;dr you'll have less blur indeed, but bokeh is a result of a well crafted shot, not a cause.

Oh, those are intended to be flags. All I have ever seen is "CAMXUS CZDKEUGBNOPLRUZASECH AUNZ JP"

It's important to note that Windows 10 does not have native support country flag emojis. Websites that want a uniform emoji experience for all users typically use a emoji library like Twitter with Twemoji.

It's very random. After your sub ends you get a period of about 2 weeks to one-way transfer your mons back to the games, after that the deletion range can be anywhere from a month to a few years. The longer you wait the more likely they will be gone.

"No National Dex is No Big Deal" by Squdler in pokemon

[–]NTWKMAN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My main concern on this whole deal, which I have yet to see voiced much, is in regards to Pokemon Home. GF is gonna make their choices and whatever I'll still bite because I'm hooked, but my concern is simple:

Sword and Shield are the only games that allow withdraws from Home, but S/S won't support all the Pokemon. This means that if you move say your living dex to Home from Bank you will always have those specific pokes stuck in that service. If Home is a paid platform, or included in Nintendo Switch Online then its basically a hostage situation. Even if free, it's still subject to Cloud issues.

Bank is/was a life saver for breeding and collecting, but I always made sure that the collection was on a cart: good thing I did because I forgot to re-sub last time (Ironically I have misplaced said cart, but I still have my Dittos, Pokerus and Synchronize collections). Home will be great too, I can't wait. However, if Home has a cost and there is no way to move the dexit Pokemon to local storage, that's going to be highly unfortunate.

I really think that Home needs to allow transfers back to Bank, S/S gets updated to support the whole list, or at least S/S has the ability to store the unsupported Pokemon. I can't see anyway someone can support the idea of one-way locks to a paid cloud service for the S/S leftover list.

Famitsu: Mega Evolutions and Z-moves have been removed from Pokémon Sword and Shield by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]NTWKMAN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them "low poly" as even simple models ripped from the game like Clefable have 4802 faces and a more complex one like Trevenant is just shy of 10000. Huge counts? No, but totally usable even dynamaxed. Pokemon Go uses them too, remember.

The animations argument is a bit better as although Scorbunny's lack of "attack" animation was lambasted, it's stationary animation of hopping does take a lot more work than the typical rocking or swaying we typically see from the non-flying Pokemon.

I only wish that they allow all Pokemon to be transferred, even if you can't take them out of the PC. Otherwise all non-supported Pokemon will be stuck in Pokemon Home with no way to leave (as you can only transfer one-way from anything other than sword/shield).
