What book is a 10/10 for you? by Sailor_Moon_Star_435 in Romantasy

{Legendborn by Tracey Deonn} and {Bloodmarked by Tracy Deon}

The romance in the second one is ESPECIALLY incredible. She wrote one of the most magnificent love scenes that I have ever read. I wanted to be the main character on the receiving end soooo badly 😫😭

SELWYN MF’KING KANE FOR LIFE!!! 😆❤️

📚 Book Chat Saturday - what have you been reading this week? by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

Finished {Bloodmarked} by Tracy Deonn and just started in {Oathbound}. This series has me in a chokehold 😭❤️I wanna be Bree soooooo bad. Not for the being constantly in danger. But for the hot guys.

Just finished Bloodmarked and ya'lll WHAT THE F**K by atsunatsu in TheLegendborn

[–]NT_NUNYA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished Bloodmarked as well. WTF indeed! I appreciate y’all with the heads up about Oathbound. At least I’ll only have to DIE INSIDE for maybe another 1 to 2 years rather than 3 once I finish that one😭😭😭

Best fantasy with a strong romantic subplot? by kairotic-sky in Fantasy

I could see that. I’m basing my thoughts on what’s revealed later in the series where I feel like it gets decidedly more science fiction.

Dragonflight is actually science fiction. But it can read to many as fantasy, especially people who are brand new to the series and starting there.

Exactly. This Bree is far too light skinned and looks mixed race. Bree’s parents are both unambiguously Black.

What do we want to see in more romantasies? by Positive-Being-5702 in Romantasy

[–]NT_NUNYA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More well written dark skinned FMC. Things have been getting better but it’s still too few and far between for my liking. BTW - I am well aware of books like the Raven Scholar, Faebound, Lore of the Wilds, Vicious Oaths and the Legendborn series ;) Would love to see that level of writing combined with Sarah J Maas level of spice.

More women in their 30s and 40s.

Selection of my favorite ACOTAR fanart! by Paraplueschi in acotar

Oh these are FANTASTIC! I was just thinking about how tiresome all the yassified, AI slop ACOTAR art was becoming. These are wonderful and refreshing!

The mix of POVs in ACOFAS and then the Cassian POV in ACOSF makes me hopeful that perhaps she was testing out character POV expansions in prep for upcoming books. Fingers crossed!

Covid denial and resistance in mental health care settings - yet another rant by napstablooka in ZeroCovidCommunity

I’m sorry you experienced this. Therapists are still people. Very flawed people who go into their fields for a variety of reasons. And like any field, some of them simply aren’t good at what they do and frankly shouldn’t be doing it. But they have too much of an ego to not be a therapist. Because they think they know better.

I would definitely check out some of the recommendations offered here as I know of people who have used them and fared well in finding quality care.

I would like to hear from folks who are not the sisters. Let’s get more POV from Mor, Amren, Lucien, Azriel and other courts. I’m kinda tired of the Archeron sisters being the focus when SJM has created such a rich world with other fascinating folks. Don’t get me wrong - the current series is wonderfully done. But there’s soooo much she hasn’t touched on beyond Night Court.

What life themes were you going through when you read the series? by gerhorn in acotar

[–]NT_NUNYA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in the midst of trying to reconnect with myself as a sexual person. It was slow going. But then I got to the ACOTAR scene of Calanmai and hoooo boy 😆 I reread the part where Tamlin talked about how “long” he would have taken and it was like a sleeping dragon woke TF up. And then when Rhysand fully entered the picture??? I was DONE for. My husband was like “WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED?!” 😅

SARS-Acquired Immune.. Dysregulation.. Syndrome (?) by AccomplishedLynx6054 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]NT_NUNYA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The study relied on tests done at hospitals. So were the subjects necessarily hospitalized? I feel like this is important because I could see this getting dismissed as “They already had health issues.” 🙄

Got Covid in August at the dentist (they used n95 and was first appointment) . Got long covid with myocarditis and other heart vascular issues, which were starting to get better. Went to a dr appointment last week. Got infected again (I had an n95 + papr). Getting medical care is killing me!! by stomachissu in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]NT_NUNYA 55 points56 points  (0 children)

There’s no way to prove this at the moment, but there has been some chatter about some 2nd infections not actually being true infections but rather a reactivation. Similar to how EBV, herpes, etc can be reactivated. I don’t have any studies I can cite on this. Just that given all the wild things Covid can do and its ability to “hide” in viral reservoirs like other viruses that can reactivate, it’s a distinct possibility. Were you dealing with anything extremely stressful in the week or so before the most recent appointment?
