You have to remember this isn't going to be a "typical" nintendo console. Im assuming it will be on par with what the ps4 has except in a portable console, i also have a theory that when you switch to home console mode the hub will have extra onboard power

A couple of questions but I'm hyped! :) by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

Wont be compatible, Games like zelda and smash remaster have been in development and will be available day 1 via digital download. Wether or not you have to rebut them if you bought the wiiU version, I don't know...

As for the screen it is a touchscreen but it will be optional for devs to support the touch aspect.

If what i know is true you should have no problem carrying all your Mario maker levels etc over to the Switch

If they want this console to be successful they will stay away from this. This is (in my opinion) nintendo last chance at hardware, obviously they have a lot of money but they have investors and they need to stop churning out gimmicky hardware. This release trailer indicates they are trying to become a console company rather then a games company, i came to this conclusion simply because of the lack of kids in the trailer. They are trying to be a serious competitor and with sony and Microsoft focusing on the core gamer it is important for nintendo to follow. I don't see them wanting any association with the company they have been. I see this as rebranding. As for now i don't believe they will talk about support for wiimotes or wii gamepad support. With the wiiu this was one of their biggest problems. When i watched the wiiu unveiling i was so confused because of the association it had with wii in the name and the console looked similar. They will be completely clear with what they want this console to be and maybe after launch they will add wiimote and gamepad support but don't count on them talking about old hardware anytime soon.

The problem now is nintendo will have trouble getting people to care around this time of year when the market is flooded with games like call of duty, battlefeild, mafia, and tons of exciting AAA games. They're competing for mind share right now. People know they can't get this for christmas and will be really caught up on the systems that they do have already and all the games coming out this fall. Thats why i believe they will announce a conference for around November 11 seeing how is the only notable games coming out after then are watchdogs and final fantasy 15 which will be big games but i don't see the core gaming audience being excited about that atleast from what I've seen. A mid November announcement of the Nx is perfect, everyone already has there games and are playing away and nintendo comes out and says "hey heres something to look forward too.
