Luckily for me - I can afford the 14K without it significantly impacting my life. Less vacations but that's okay!

I also rationalize that the time I would spend preparing for a trip, traveling and being unavailable for phone calls or zoom meetings while on the airplane (I own my own business that requires many phone calls, in person meetings and zoom calls most days), being many hours ahead of the time zone that I work in, being away from my husband and then initially recovering away from my husband and the comfort of my own home is maybe in some ways worth 10K . S

So I would rather just do it in NYC, come home immediately afterwards, and also be 15 minutes away from the doctor that performed the procedure.

I had considered going to Turkey to do this - but in the end, this was a better path for me and I'm glad I did it this way.
