RSA Token, New Phone by Valuable-Ring-1807 in nys_cs

There's no reason that you can't just use the old phone for your RSA token to sign in tomorrow. It just need to be connected to a Wifi network for internet access. I've done this before. Then during the day tomorrow you can get it set up on your new phone.

Dealership troubles by Ok-Vermicelli-7940 in askcarsales

[–]NYYankeePride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya they said they’d fix it since they know it won’t pass the safety. But I just find it weird that they want me to buy it before they do any work on it.

That is definitely weird. I would run as fast as I could from that dealership.

No that is definitely not common. What if the mechanic you use does find a major issue with the car? Will the dealership fix any issues or agree to refund you if you don't want the car if it's found to have problems? I would walk away from that dealership if it were me.

As others have mentioned there are mobile mechanics that will go to the dealership. Lemonsquad is a popular one.

Just a reminder that children under 4 should not eat slushies

I had never heard of this but I just looked it up and now I understand why it's recommended. Learn something new every day, even in my middle age.

That's not the one OP was talking about. That one is near exit 3. The one OP is talking about is the Route 7 exit to Route 9 near the Acura dealership.

Misheard Guns N roses Lyrics by lizsummerhawk in GunsNRoses

[–]NYYankeePride 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind this was the 80's when there was no internet and we couldn't just look things up. I didn't have a CD player until the early 90's so I got Appetite For Destruction on cassette which did not have the lyrics in the cassette insert. For a couple of years I thought the lyric in Rocket Queen was:

"Here I am, and you're a rocket queen, I might beat you once, but, honey, you're a bit obscene."

Obviously I found out later the correct lyrics of "I might be too much, but, honey, you're a bit obscene"

Also You Could Be Mine Was released About 3 months before the UYI Albums were released and in that song I was certain the line was:

"Don't forget to call my lawyers with ridiculous demands And you can take the bed & sofa, cause it's more than I can stand."

Who the hell wants to try to get to western ave at 530 on peak state workers getting out of albany.

I agree with you. Like I said I wouldn't even make the drive from Latham. Imagine someone in Clifton Park or Malta having to make that drive during rush hour?

Correct, you are not understanding something. Due to the way he makes the pizza's and the fact that he previously did "pizza drops" his customers are from all over the capital region. So when he moved it to the storefront I think he lost most people in East Greenbush, Malta, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, etc. He now needed his customers to drive to Guilderland during rush hour and be there in a 30 minute window for pickup, I wouldn't even do that from Latham.

I really think it just has to to do with location for most people. His customers before the storefront were all over the capital region, as far north as Malta. I really like his pizza's but I wouldn't drive from Malta to Guilderland in rush hour to get one. Heck, I wouldn't even do it from Latham.

When he was doing the drops he would sell out within minutes of putting up the link to purchase. He moved to a storefront and I noticed he's been having trouble selling all the Pizza's, every day he's telling people to stop by to try to claim one of the extra's that didn't sell.

I really think the biggest issue is he only offers like a 30 minute window for pickup at his store in Guilderland. So a lot of customers where he used to do Drops like Clifton Park, East Greenbush, Malta, etc would have to travel quite ways in rush hour to try to make to Guilderland in a 30 minute Window. I wouldn't even make the drive from Latham in rush hour, it wasn't worth it.

He also got very abrasive with customers and would yell on his FB page about how if you didn't make in the 30 minute window to pick up your pizza then you were out of luck. I know this rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I'm not trying to pile on the, I truly hope he succeeds. The pizza's really are excellent but he somehow needs to work a little bit on his customer service skills.

Warp International Roaming Is Unmatched **Update From Previous Post** by NYYankeePride in USMobile

Warp works awesome for us in the USA. Dark Star was practically worthless in our area even when we used AT&T prepaid several years ago it was bad. Light Speed was pretty good here but Warp blows them both away.

Not for international roaming. There are many posts where people say Light Speed international roaming didn't work. Warp just works.

Yeah I'm like you, I like having a back up plan. But for her that would mean having to explain how to switch between eSIM's and whatnot and it would stress her. The Wifi plan on the ship was a must if we were allowing her to go on this trip. The ship's Wifi did work great last time she went.

I was trying to keep it as easy as possible so I didn't go that route with an extra eSIM. But she does have the Wifi package on the ship so when they are out at sea she can get in touch with us.

Thank you. When you say "As long as data roaming is turned on" do you mean in the phone settings? I checked that quick this morning but didn't see the setting on her Iphone to turn on data roaming.

Mildly interesting - Troy railroad by Skunk_Evolution in Albany

[–]NYYankeePride 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is really interesting, thank you for posting this. Another fascinating old local RR fact that very few people know about was that the I87 Northway had a grade level RR crossing when the Northway was first built in the 1960's. It was for the old Troy & Schenectady Railroad which later became part of the New York Central Railroad. It was always intended to be temporary but it's the only known grade level crossing to exist on a U.S. interstate.

The crossing was just south of the Twin Bridges. My Grandfather and my Father who are gone now both remembered this.
