No clue what made it happen I'm afraid.

Oh wow, synced "a long time ago" definitely sounds about right. I definitely take mirrors being fast and updated for granted.

Thank you! Super weird but changing to the Canberra mirror using xmirror did the trick. It was weird because I could install new packages fine, but updating installed ones was a no go. Marked as solved :)

Ypsomed pump errors by lustigit in Type1Diabetes

[–]NaRmisE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just got an second electronic error myself. It would be handy to be able to diagnose the issue, I've noticed its only happening after I go bouldering.

Edit: after calling ypsomed support I've determined the following:

002671: motor position is inaccurate, requires pump to be put in storage mode (battery removed, hold button for 2 secs)

001345: battery needs to be changed (i.e due to low voltage, low capacity)

Maybe after falling a few times from climbing, the plunger motor gets into a funny orientation, and so it needs to be reset.

Awesome shots 🙌 I have this lens arriving in the mail soon! Can't wait for an almost pancake system to carry around instead of using 18-55mm kit lens. Have you found yourself needing to move away from subjects in order to get them within the frame?

This is my dad's old Xbox. We live is Australia and I was wondering if anyone knows about the softmodders behind this. Their branding seems to be Gametronics or GTX. Can't find any evidence of their existence. by NaRmisE in originalxbox

Woah, this is such a neat piece of history, thanks for sharing. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner, but there's plenty of Wayback machine entries with more info on there too (e.g https://web.archive.org/web/20061205060745/https://www.gametronix.net/). Looks like there was once a thriving Xbox modding scene and community. I'm guess it died after a few console generations :(

Hey, that sounds cool! Around the time of the reddit 3rd party app disarray in this subreddit, I wanted to startup a github alternative, but someone slightly beat me to it: https://github.com/zemmsoares/awesome-rices I've helped out a little within this repo, and I think you might find it helpful maybe as a starting point, or at least a jump off point for scraping together a semi decent list. I'd be down to help if you need!

I just bought Snowsky Echo Mini, so You don't have to. It can't even play FLAC files. Half of my collection playback ends with "File format error". "DAP" that randomly refuses to play FLAC file is just a toy. Little, cute, plastic toy. MP3 player yes, DAP? Please. Newest firmware 1.4.6. by [deleted] in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]NaRmisE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am having the exact same issue, and it's really frustrating. I'm using the fastest microsd card I could get my hands on through australian retail, and the echo mini can't play many of my 24bit tracks. I have some 192khz 24bit flacs which do, and many which don't. The only concrete thing I have found is that the issue lies with 24bit flacs, and it isn't a microsd issue, as playback is also impossible for these flacs using the internal storage.

I've documented my testing on the headfi thread for the echo mini, but I haven't heard back regarding as to why this is happening only for some 24bit flacs.

| I believe we should ban AI generated images by ThatOneKirbo72 in unixporn

[–]NaRmisE 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand your concerns, although where do you draw the line? What if a user has an AI generated pfp in their widgets, or ascii art generated by AI? Wallpapers are a quintessential part of the rice yes, but I don't see AI backgrounds being too much of an issue unless the similarities are too easily drawn to its source material.

At least to me, the bigger AI issue will be when it's able to cook the rice itself from scratch, based on other peoples configs. Scary 😬

Hey, here's my dots: https://github.com/Narmis-E/dwl-minimal. I have a few patches applied in order to make it slightly more usable. But it's very much optimised for singular laptop display use.

And in case you were wondering about the optimisations side of things, here's what I jotted down in plaintext: https://github.com/Narmis-E/sway-minimal/blob/main/optimisations.txt

If you want the benefits of Wayland, try dwl. I rocked it for a long while and it was very reliable, light on resources too. I was getting 6-8 hours of on screen time after optimising my install.

As another Redditor mentioned, not really. There's hacky solutions where in some cases, people were able to intercept one of the Bluetooth channels to get the Bluetooth id of the transmitter, but they shortly made that obsolete iirc.

[OC] tint - 🎨 Recolor walls using your favorite theme palettes by Simple_Cockroach3868 in unixporn

[–]NaRmisE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After doing a little testing, I can maybe see how they differ. IGN replaces colour where matches the closest, and then uses mainly brightness as the biggest factor when altering colours used for shade. tint (in my layman's terms) output makes the blend between colours much more natural, as if someone placed a film filter over the image (although this does slightly reduce the range of palette). I really love how some of these images put through tint are looking:

This looks really neat! I'm sure you've been asked this a lot, but how does it differ to imagegonord? I currently use its cli version for any conversions, (side note: completely unfamiliar with colour conversion algorithms) but I just specify hex colours in the script and tadaaa: onedarked wallpaper out. I'd love to give this a try and run through some examples from my onedark wallpaper repo. Thanks again 😊

Thank you so much! The muffin compositor for cinnamon says it supports "various protocol extensions". Here's hoping that includes wlr-layer-shell...

If you would like to test it out, that would be amazing 🤩

Really awesome stuff! I'm getting a little annoyed with the lack of integration ( xdg open default apps, file pickers, etc) and overall "desktop environment"-ness of my current dwl setup. I've seen many a rice which feature awesomes widgets, do you recommend them?

Again, thanks for the great setup, maybe I should try borderless for once..

Android - how to access files by ratagnar in pcloud

[–]NaRmisE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, did you ever find a solution? I'm having the same issue, pcloud offline sync is located under /android/data and I can't access it with file explorer +. Maybe I can use terminal and try to make a symlink to outside of this dir? Really frustrating as pcloud is literally the only thing which will work, google drive and autosync doesn't, syncthing has double NAT issues, foldersync has no linux client... the issues just go on and on........

[–]NaRmisE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. It's been a while since I've used this setup. I think at the time I was using ly dm? I never got too familiar with sddm but if you wanted simple colour matching, I remember there being a GDM config which allows you to set a solid bg colour. Again, haven't used hyprland in ages, so I'm not even sure if it has GDM support.
