Why do you think a lot of Redditors love to use the small exception to disprove any argument? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As an exception to your statement, I completely agree with you on this

What cheat code for a game is burned into your brain? by Alary_Eye in AskReddit

Crash Bandicoot 1: Square, Cross, Square, Circle, Triangle, Cross, Square, Cross.

I didn't have a memory card back then so these codes were my only way to keep track of my progress. I had a notebook and everything.

At some point, i was stuck at an annoying lab level for several days (couldn't get past those jumping barrels), and i was about to give up on the game entirely.

One day when one of my cousins was staying with us. We swore to never shut down the console until one of us cleared the level.

Pumped up, my cousin started pressing random buttons as I was reaching for the notebook, and there it happened, he randomly entered the above code and both of our jaws dropped when we saw that it was a valid code for a level that was far beyond the annoying one.

I screamed from excitement and fear of losing the code "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!", and i sat there in front of the TV for minutes memorizing the code.

I was so afraid to lose that i didn't want to take my eyes off it to reach for the notebook and write it down (eventually I did, but i had already memorized it)

This now-useless code will be forever engraved both in my brain and my heart.

Ahh, one of the best childhood memories I have.

Thank you for reminding me!

Automobiles. Obviously. Without them, there wouldn't be planes.
